So let me start by saying, I have always tried to stop PMO addiction for years. Currently in my 30s, I have been with porn since around 11 or 12. How? Well the internet is the all encompassing enabler, It doesn't help that most movements that support people who try to get off PMO addiction are conservative outlets. My first journey was around 10 years ago.

Coincendentally I do not believe organized religion, so movements like the fight the new drug -- which only claims to be non-religious -- are a turn off for me. Porn is not a drug, but it is a very bad habit. Porn addiction is akin to sucking your thumb, its pleasurable and induces dopamine and can get really ugly when it starts to fester and take over your lives. But a drug, it is not.

This is why I have been trying to get rid of this habit for a long time. There were times that I would go to the bathroom in the office just to wank off, in the middle of the day, after a meeting just to chase away the stress. The thing is it hasn't really affected my career at all, or my social life, or my relationships. In high school I proudly claimed that I can masturbate 7 times a day. I still had a girlfriend, I still had friends that are close to me until today, my grades were mediocre but I still went to a good college, I could make music in my attic on my computer and masturbate in between sessions, basically it had zero effect on other aspects of my life. I was and am still productive despite the addiction. Sometimes, I masturbate too much until my penis is sore.

But the pain heals quickly and has not affected my overall sex life. I have kind of a premature ejaculation but I would guarantee that my partners came first so nobody complained. Which, is basically my excuse to not stop masturbating everyday. Because, I have fought off addiction before, I have stopped smoking, reduced alcohol use, and quit over the countr painkillers. But this? This is hard, the sheer fact that it doesn't really harm you is the biggest factor how it is actually the hardest one to control.

Now, I want to start again -- seeing that there is a community out here that is maybe borderline mysoginist but not as harmful as other more extreme antiporn groups -- and basically find a place to share my journey and knowledge of what I know, read, and have experienced sorrounding the PMO subject and myths.

    In other words: Hi.

    Whats good everyone.

My name is Christopher. I've been at this bad habit and addiction since middle school. I went from finding a hidden stash, using internet porn sites to using my imagination. Note: I may reveal some things personal yet embarrassing. Being on the "spectrum," its been nearly impossible to maintain or develop relationships. Yesterday is my last day of viewing pornography. My streak of porn viewing stems from my low self esteem; My many failed attempts with women, being rejected for having a tiny appendage, communicating and socializing entirely different (appearing weird or eccentric), etc. Today will be my first day from being clean. Despite being socially awkward and having high levels of anxiety, I want to LIVE. I want to improve myself; The only person I want to truly out do is me. The game I want to start winning is called LIFE. I definitely need to get my mind right, out of the gutter. I want to heal my mind, body and spirit. On another personal note, I am 9 1/2 months clean from all drug use, misuse and abuse; This would make it bad habit #2 I want to part ways with. Thank you all for your time in reading my post. Let's fight on and be porn free!
