Doing it since summer 2017, that's when I discovered Nofap after having a rough time at work etc. Basically searched for it myself and decided to give it a shot. Never cured myself fully unfortunately. Have had about 5 high streaks exceeding 30 days. my streaks were 44 days, 56 days, 65 days, 67 days and this year I managed to do 95 days.

Overall I feel so much better during the streaks. For me becoming emotionally stable is the biggest factor. When I am doing PMO I am feeling depressed, lonely, FOMO, feel like people dislike me or think I'm weird so my self esteem and confidence plummet down to the ground. And then when I reach day 30 or whatever I start to open up and become more secure in myself and my emotions don't swing as much. I also want to help others badly because I sort of overcame myself and then I am focussing on others more and build a better connection with people.
At day 70-95 I had a massive erection everytime I would even look at my girlfriends ass. So when we went swimming or whatever I would just be afraid of getting erected again lol. I had erectile disfunction before. So these problems are quite hilarious.

Now I'm at day 2 and feel like utter dogshit.

  2. It will be two years next month. It has really turned my life around in many ways. You don’t have to be flawless at this for it to make a big difference. But there need to be other changes in your life that go along with it, imo. For me it was fitness, important adjustments to my attitude and behavior, and a better understanding of relationship dynamics.

  3. Yeah, the longer streaks have always led to me feeling more grounded, more in-tune with myself and the world around me and less physically fatigued.

  4. My stats:

    • First viewed porn- 40 years ago this year
    • Became addicted to porn- roughly 30-35 years ago. Kind of hard to say, but I definitely had a dependency somewhere in this timeframe
    • Realized I had a problem- probably 10-15 years ago. Like many others, I didn't realize I was addicted until I tried to stop using
    • First tried to stop using porn- around 10 years ago
    • Started NoFap- May of 2021
    • Longest streak- current streak of 152 days. Prior to that, my longest streak was 23 days.
Being clean has many benefits, but the things that stick out to me are the clarity of thought (no P-fog), and the absence of guilt and shame. These 3 things alone are worth the struggle!
