I feel lonely and sad when I stop PMO even for a single day. It's like this reminder of how bad my life sucks or how badly I screwed up. I just feel really depressed sometimes. The pain I was previously masking with porn is now showing itself. I feel like going back to porn sometimes so this feeling will stop. Will this pass? Have you guys had similar experiences?
It’s the withdrawals. The withdrawals mean you are recovering from chronic PMO addiction. Do not relapse or you will have to go through this phase again.
I was using pmo to escape my depression and anxiety. Not realizing that it was making the things I already had worse. You have to fight through those feelings because I've relapsed a bunch of times before I came to the site and was serious about recovering. Those feelings will never go away if you continue to use pmo. Try replacing P with something like a hobby and your brain can feel better eventually in doing a hobby that's healthier like working out or writing
PMO addicts often use pmo as a coping mechanism for areas of their life which they feel are lacking in some way. So in order to stay clean from pmo it might be a good idea to sort out the problems in your life which make you resort to porn in the first place. You say you're lonely, how you about meet up with friends more regularly or join a sports club?
I feel you, man. I am exactly where you are, around 2 weeks in. We will tame this beast. Believe in yourself, you are worth it to endure this pain now and walk away finally free.
