Best Porn Blocker ???

I use PluckEye. It is very customizable and you have a lot of control over it.

I have had a lot more success with it than I have had with other blockers like Net Nanny and Covenant Eyes.

But whichever one you choose, I also suggest you set your DNS with CleanBrowsing.org's free filters: https://cleanbrowsing.org/filters

 

On what device ?
Phone - I would suggest to use family link , it's not porn blocker ,it's a like family safety by Google so you can't bypass it , I have tried like a billion and I could not.
Laptop - What I do is create a child user block all site and allow only few. And store the admin password in lockbox.pluckeye.net. You need minimum 7 days unlock your password. So 7 day streak is guaranteed.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can give a quick and easy tutorial that's better than what's on the website itself (specifically what's in the "Intro" tab on the top bar): https://www.pluckeye.net/

It requires a small familiarity with using a terminal, so hopefully that doesn't discourage you (just follow instructions on the website and you'll be fine!).

By default, PluckEye blocks all images and videos on your web browser. This should also include online games. But in order for this to be effective for you, you will want to put PluckEye to level 2 (so you can't easily disable it), set a significant delay (at least 3 hours... I have mine set to a 6-hour delay), and be very careful about which websites you allow. From there, begin to tinker with what websites you want/need to block. Some of it is trial and error until you figure out what you should and shouldn't have access to.

If you want to go in a very restrictive direction, it is also possible to block all websites except for those that you specifically allow.

thanks guys for the DNS filter didn't know something like this exists...... I always failed to the loopholes of different softwares..... Is there a way to hardwire this to my router so it blocks adult content no matter what device I am using?

 

I have the same goal, so yesterday I did some research and set up Pi-hole:

My router is a fritzbox and on the pi-hole website they provide guides how to set it up as a local DNS server in the router:

Independent of the router brand it should not be too difficult to configure a local DNS server for it.

I can't give long term experience review but so far it was really easy to setup.
The install script is so easy to use and guides you through.

Note:
I used the "Distribute Pi-hole as DNS server via DHCP" method. And to make it work with my android phone on wifi, I also had to configure DHCP for ipv6 and not only for ipv4.

A super simple approach just for PC (as the OP asked) is just to replace your hosts file in windows / linux or whatever you use with one of the blockist host files e.g. from here https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts

 

@ADMG Dude, thank you for posting about cleanbrowsing.org! I used to use K9, but I don't believe its available for Mac anymore. I don't want to pay for a filter. I put the Adult Filter in my DNS and it is great! I'm still able to visit any site I need for work, it does not bog down my internet, and it saved my ass a few times already today!

 

I've searched for years for a way to create a world around me that doesn't give me access to porn. It doesn't exist. But filters serve a good purpose.

 

Anyone who is truly determined enough will get through or find a way to disable the blockers. But, you can make it difficult enough to slow yourself down that it could be of use and the urges pass before you do.

One tactic would be to use OpenDNS and use their filters, and have a trusted friend set up the credentials to that account which you wouldn't have and the password/email to your router login as well. Nothing is air-tight, but that would make it far more difficult to access P. In essence the login credentials would be someone else's so you couldn't reset them, and it would be for both internet and router.

The obvious downside is that you've lost direct, immediate access to your internet other than just browsing. Like, for whatever reason you needed to access content that was being screened, you'd be totally out of luck in the moment. You're also giving a tremendous power over to someone else that is a pretty critical service for a lot people.

 

You can use lockbox.pluckeye.net for passwords that you shouldn't have immediate access to.

Basically, you set a delay and you have to wait that period of time before the password becomes available.
