  1. Hello everyone, I'm a 31 year old male turning his life around. I've been addicted to porn since I was 13, and I've hardly skipped a day since my first O. Speaking of the first, it was late at night to some skinamax flick, so immediately there was a connection to porn. Mine's been a 2-5 times a day habit since the beginning, and no matter how low I got or how badly I loathed myself and wanted to quit, nothing worked. Until I discovered YourBrainOnPorn.com and the NoFap community.

On February 21, after PMOing, I visited YourBrainOnPorn.com, a site I'd stumbled across several weeks earlier and bookmarked for review later. Seemingly out of nowhere I had the conviction to give it all up on the spot. And I haven't PMO'd since... I think.

The first five days were easy. I hardly thought about porn and was amazed at my progress. I'd never gone that long without an O. My life was in transition, though, so I had lots to distract me. I'm recently unemployed and after seven years at a good job I had to move out of state, back in with my parents, while looking for a new job. That's when the struggle began.

I have all day by myself. Trying to find distractions all day is becoming quite a challenge. I work out, I job hunt, I meditate, I write, I life-vision... But only two days in I MO'd. Surprisingly, I was able to do it without fantasizing. Then four days later, I MO'd twice more. This time focusing only on specific sexual encounters from my past. It's been relatively easy to avoid porn of any sort, even memories about porn are easy to push away. And I'm not entertaining new fantasies, but I'd still like to stop MOing altogether as I've heard it speeds the rebooting process.

My question is, does anyone have advice to stave off MO while unemployed and alone most of the day? I'm now using a spreadsheet to track my progress, but I need more. Sorry for the long post, but I figured some context is always useful. Anyway, thanks for all your replies and help in advance, and I'm glad this community exists. I've no doubt we can all beat this if done right.

    Welcome!
    Congrats on the decision!
Tip: As soon as you start fantasizing - get your mind on something else OR take up some kind of activity. For example, take a walk, go to a store, grab a book etc. Helps for me :)

    Good luck!
