I was in a pretty dark place around 90 days ago with all sorts of negative thoughts wandering in my mind with moderate to severe depression, so just having the concerted effort to start NOFAP at that time was a gigantic task, but once I began, I never looked back. I completed my 90 day hard mode reboot yesterday and all I can say is it's been pretty easy for ME, but NOFAP as other members have stated before, does not cure you of anything as such. It will just make you feel as if you can have the world at your feet as you are conquering yourself which is a great feeling, mind you and can help in 'reducing' depression.

Once you get that feeling, you automatically start doing a lot of things right from eating right to exercising everyday to making approaches to women and basically not giving a flying fuck about anything. Again, while I was on NOFAP I was obsessed about improving every aspect of my life, hence I used to read a lot on Neuroscience and psychology to understand the intricacies of my brain and human behavior and why we behave in this erratic insane manner.

I can very confidently state that NOFAP+Cold Showers+Healthy Eating+Exercise+Mindfulness+Not giving a flying fuck about what other's think is a great way to live and you shall reap the dividends (obviously) if you can keep up with it and let your mind control your brain and not the contrary.

    The dividends-
    1. Alpha Confidence
    2. Mindfulness becomes automatically easier
    3. 10X Horniness
    4. Women seem to look much more beautiful than before, even the average ones.
    5. Eye contact with women is the easiest thing in the world
    6. Stares by women.

I want to elucidate a bit on this point. Having read various people's experience with this one I want to say that firstly if you are shit looking 'and' not fit, no amount of NOFAP is going to make women eye fuck you. Secondly, I don't buy into the pheromones parable people are selling. According to me (again every one has their right to opine) if you are comfortable with yourself, are present in the moment and show confidence while looking at women right in the eye how could a woman not stare back and wonder "who is this guy?"

    7. Less depression
    8. More beard growth
    9. Morning wood every fucking day, with extremely sexual dreams most nights. The subconscious mind is a a crucial part of yourself that tells you what you want, rather need.

My future goal? Never to watch pornography ever again. I had always felt that viewing pornography is such a twisted thing. Sitting on your laptop or phone watching two other people indulging in coitus while you wank your penis. If you think of it from a dissociative personality and not how social conditioning has brought all of us up, you shall also see that it just seems the most unnatural and wanton esque thing in the world.

I don't have an issue with masturbation perse, but again for masturbation to take place I need to be imagining a sexual scene in my mind which breaks the rules of NOFAP, hence masturbation is a no-no for me as well. Getting Laid is all that you should vie for and you shall get it.

Lastly, to all you fellow FAPSTRONOUTS out there, hang in there! Just go day by day and look at the end goal and keep yourself busy. Think of porn as disgusting and something unnatural like having sex with an animal and it shall become easier. Also DO NOT get into the rut of thinking "oh everyone does it, it's okay, let's just go ahead". Society itself is pretty asinine and does a lot of stupid shit that you shouldn't be doing. Don't be another brick in the wall, be the one who stands out, who had the courage and the grit to do something other people can't even dream of doing. People will tell you "you've lost the plot, it's okay man, chill just jack off once in a while", don't fall into this false loop and stay strong. Peace.

Again, just to clarify these are just my own opinions on matters. If you disagree, feel free to do so.

Would you attribute this to Nofap alone? As in, did you not have morning wood before you began? And if so, when did you notice it return in your reboot?

    Congratulations and all the best!

I don't think I used to get morning wood before. I don't recollect going mad with this much horniness in the mornings EVER. It's a blessing plus a sin and to your second question, I think I noticed it return around day 30. It takes time, trust me but once you have passed that hill it's all good. Another thing to be very vary about is, you need to focus on improving all aspects of your life while on nofap. Socialize more, exercise more, just be happy with yourself. My motto now is "Lots of people these days care so much about what they put into their body (I am one of them), we should care even more about what we put into our minds". Pornography and any negative thought is not something I want swirling in my brain. Anyway Best of Luck man!

Also just to clarify, I am a 25 year old guy.

To be honest I don't do hard core cold showers. Not the Alexendar method mentioned in the forums. I start off with a warm shower with some really peppy music in the bathroom(I have a wireless bluetooth speaker) and then head to cold showers. My technique in cold showers, is to start a punching match with someone while doing it. Ever seen never back down? Act like you are Jake Tyler fighting Ryan McCarthy and keep that thought in your mind. A minute passes like it's a second then, and 2 minutes will be over before you know it! That's how I do it, you could think your own technique. Whatever really pumps you up so that you "never back down". Best of luck to you.

hahah thanks a lot man! I can attribute reading a lot of neuroscience and mindfulness books like "You are not your brain", "How the brain changes itself", "Brain matter" to this as well. You need to understand what your brain tells you is complete and utter bullshit most of the times.

Rationally speaking, your thoughts are nothing just a combination of other people's thoughts that you imbibed through the experiences you've been through. You need to question the thoughts that come in your mind! Is this thought good for me? EVERYONE knows what's good for them, it's the one who controls his mind and doesn't let the brain take over is the one who wins. I really agree with Tyler from RSD here-

Best of luck to you btw! Hope my thoughts and the video I shared helps everyone.

That's great. Really glad my story helped someone! Stay strong and take it a day at a time and always question your "negative" thoughts.

Thanks man! I suppose I need more time to reboot because my morning wood hasn't come back as yet and I'm now on day 60. I'm not worried, I know it will eventually. I'm as old as you so it just reinforces what we already know that it's different for every individual. Still, your post does instill hope.

Also, I'm totally on board with improving other aspects of our lives. I mean I was already into fitness before I began my journey but I've taken up meditation as well which is new to me so fingers crossed.

  14. Congratulations bro. I definitely agree on educating yourself on how the mind works and about the chemicals that create your moods, desires and mindstates.

Just keep hammering home to yourself that you absolutely do not and will not masturbate.
