I relapsed with escorts again today. Was clean only since the start of this week. But I have found a foolproof way to stop it for good.

1. Enable screen time on your phone, and add the escort websites you use to your content restrictions section under blocked websites
2. This will block the sites at an OPERATING SYSTEM LEVEL, you cannot access them regardless of browser
3. Change your screen time password to a completely random one you just thought up, and save it on your computer somewhere, or even better get a friend to set it and not tell you what it is
4. Change your Apple ID password to something completely random (just spew a load of characters onto notepad, and copy paste into the "new password" fields. Have the password saved somewhere or even better send to a friend or something
5. Now you cannot guess the password when away from your computer and out and about

This works for me because I only ever get these "cravings" to see an escort when I am out and about, and only have my phone with me. So without going on my laptop at home I physically can't unblock these escort websites to even allow myself to search for an escort!

Also it goes without saying that you need to delete any and all escort numbers you have saved on your phone.

I am eternally grateful to Apple for including the screen time feature in iOS!

 

In addition to what I just wrote, after two incredibly disheartening relapses, I can confirm you have to also change your iphone password to something you will never remember, and MAKE SURE face ID/touch ID is enabled so you can still use your phone! This is because apple does this thing where you can recover your icloud password by typing in your phone passcode (and therefore reset screen time!)

I actually think there may be a "middle ground" to be had here, escorting should be done within your personal budget. For me it causes issues because it becomes addictive, but maybe that's just me and a byproduct of my somewhat lonely existence. If you earn $2000 a month and you can keep your escort spending to $100 a month, that in my view is sustainable and you should definitely not be beating yourself up over it.

However if you are feeling that your compulsion to go and see escorts is out of your control and is holding too much sway over you and your finances, that's when its time to ease off, start hard-blocking these escort sites, keep them out of your reach when you're out the house and vulnerable to being tempted by escorts.

It's difficult to quit fapping. Scrolling around the escort pages, or even lingering about them, or the motels is one thing, but the PMO is what drove a lot of people to seek help. I am in no way saying to risk everything and hire a prostitute, not one bit. I am only speaking from experience when I mention PMO being a great motivator for starting this whole process. The only reason to use porn is because it's safer than visiting an "escort", but is it really all that much safer?
