The Porn Phenomenon study also found that: "Women are into porn in a big way". I wonder why there are so few females seeking recovery though?

 

Maybe porn addiction is healthy for women. Can someone confirm this?

 

IMHO, I guess its because women are usually expected to care less about sex and more about connection than men.

In any case, it is a reason for concern that so many people consider porn as the new "normal". How could it be normal to not develop any kind of social skill with the opposite gender because you are staring at your screen all day?

 

Why would gender make any difference. It is still sexual objectification of the human body via artificial stimulation of dopamine in the brain, damaging the reward circuit. How could that be healthy for women or for men. Can you explain?

 

I watched porn out of curiosity at a young age on and off growing up .... I understand why it's addicting to some mostly men probably the whole visual stimulation thing .... I rather go to the beach or gym if something captivates me I smile strike up a convo.... Even laugh about it if he's taken .... I don't know we're all different .... I guess that's why I'm here still trying to understand my bfs addiction when there's a real world out there and he's on his bum .... I don't have a laptop or desktop I'm on my phone texting I just have to keep moving( not always safe ) lol that's just how I'm wired

 

This reminds me of Huxley's 'Brave New World'. In this dystopia, the populace was addicted to the drug Soma. All they sought, beside material comfort, was pleasure in a never-ending series of trivial hook-ups.

Gotcha ! It goes back to men wanting to spread their seeds procreate and looking for young attractive woman = healthy woman were the ones who gathered .... I also think that if Fred and Barney had internet & a porn addiction they wouldn't even bother leaving the cave and I apologise using a cartoon image but they are the only cave men came to know on boomerang lol
