They definitely don't reset your counter in my opinion. You might try asking yourself how do you feel emotionally at the time. Many addicts use porn and or other things like cigs to escape from feelings. It can be helpful to practice sitting with your feelings and asking yourself some questions like. How does this feeling feel in my body? Maybe tight throat or weight on your chest for example. When was the last time I had this feeling? When was the first time I had this feeling? It is likely a childhood memory. Finally ask the feeling is there anything you want me to know. Sometimes this is more successful than others but learning to live with and accept your feelings good and bad can help with recovery.
