    Hi all,

I am new to this site. Been trying to quit for years. I have done alot of work around my issues, but it seems like my neurochemistry is accustomed to it. In the past I have been able to quit for periods. But then it comes back. I have a long distance girlfriend, I notice the cravings are worse after I see her. I think I am oxytocin deficient and this has become a poor substitute. I am hoping that writing an journaling about what I am experiencing and having a community around it will help. I am 1 day in and it feels like it will be a long weekend.

  2. Keeping a journal definitely helps. Knowing that there would be people on the forum eager to know how well you have been doing/recovering, or supporting you if you happen to relapse is a great feeling.

How do I keep myself occupied if alone at night? Seems like if I just have access to a computer something triggers me. Everything is so sexual and so stimulating. Especially after day 3 of abstinence...

  4. If computer is your trigger, try not to use it during the night. Or, spend that time reading articles on yourbrainonporn.com.

I have also found updating journal during the night before going to bed helps a little to avoid relapse during the night.
