    Hi my fellow bros.

I'm an 18 year old male and like many of you is here for of falling into the trap of porn 6 years ago. I no longer want this addiction to control me and want to take control over my life.

I have been PMO for only 3 days and already feel like I'm beginning to lose it. Thats how bad my addiction has been. I'm mentally weak right now and need great help in getting through this. I'm physically fit and have good health but depression is kicking in. I've been lifting more than usual to try to get my mind on something else but can't stop thinking sexually.

College is the next step for me and I want to be fully focused on that. I believe this place can help me find myself again. With all the help and support for one another we can all beat this thing.

It's great that you have found this place....

I suggest a couple of books

Joe Zychik.....download his ebook for free

    The sex addiction workbook.....Tamara spraga

Both are great and really helped me

And it's great that you are looking to make a change and have found this place....

Wow, we sound almost exactly alike. At the start of my journey, I was three days into it and was struggling so I found this website.
Here are the things that helped me the most at the beginning:
    1. You MUST have some sort of accountability/porn-blocking program on your computer, smartphone, and any other device you can access porn on. I recommend K9 (it's free), or Covenant eyes. Porn is just too easy to stumble upon without these safeties in place.
    2. Have a zero-tolerance mindset where no matter how bad an urge is, looking at any porn (or even girls on facebook or something that can lead to looking at porn... we all know the snowball effect) is simply not an option in your mind. This forces you to think of other ways to get through an urge because relapsing just is not an option or possibility. This is your new life! You won't be struggling with these urges forever as long as you continue this journey so you might as well figure out ways to get through them now.
    3. Keep staying active on these forums and continue researching about porn addictions and addictions in general. I highly recommend working your way through the Fortify Program (fortifyprogram.org). The more you fill your mind with positive things like this, the less it will fill with temptations and urges
    4. Having an accountability partner is extremely helpful. For me it is my Dad. We have a weekly check-in to discuss how the week went, and he helps me with strategies to overcome urges and the like. It is so freeing having an accountability partner supporting you.
"If you quit now, you will soon be back to where you started. And when you started, you were desperately wishing to be where you are today."

    Stay strong!

    Thanks for the advice bro.

Yeah I'm trying to stay away from as much internet or any if at all possible. That quote at the end is gonna be really helpful because I see a lot of relapsing in the future. Just gotta pay attention to God. I do need an AP too. In the meantime I think I'll start documenting my 30 day goal.
