This is what porn does. Regular porn gives you that dopamine high and after awhile that isn't enough. It get normalized in your head, then your brain has to find something else that will give it that dopamine hit. Then rinse and repeat until you are watching things that you never normally would and in fact makes you feel sick and disgusted with yourself. That is how porn works and how much of a lowly road a person can go. Porn is tricky like that, it will take you to a place you never thought it would and then it laughs and spits in your face because it brought you to a place that nightmares are made of.

@Christopher123 keep working on your reboot. Start a journal where you can document every day. A place where you can process your thoughts and feelings. Create a set of rules and goals that you can govern your reboot by. Also, create a plan of attack that you can enact immediately without thinking when you are feeling triggered. Then on that note, think about and write down what your triggers are, so that you can identify them immediately. This can save you precious seconds and help prevent a relapse. Most importantly, take one day at a time and be patient. This is a long and difficult journey and one well worth it.

This is one of the more in-depth assessments I've seen on the why of this subject. In the past, I've read from more than one woman who was offended that men would fetishize "being a woman". Is America really that repressed? They teach 6-year-olds about sex which, IMO, is child abuse. In Europe, they have animal brothels where people pay to have sex with animals. I don't know how common it is, but from what I've seen of pictures of establishments like that any country that legalizes that should get nuked.

There must be something specific behind what you're saying here but I'm confused by this statement. My personal experience is that my parents didn't explain to me about sex soon enough or as much as they should have. I learned about sex, unfortunately, from finding my dad's playboy magazines and also from my friends. My daughter, on the other hand, is three and she knows all the proper names for body parts, including her vulva and boys and men have penises. She knows her birth story (an age appropriate version) and she loves to watch a video of a baby developing in the womb. We also talk about how her body works, such as how food is digested and how her heart pumps blood, so it's not just about sex related knowledge, it's knowledge in general. I'm an advocate for open, honest communication with children from an early age, and that includes conversations, someday, with my daughter about porn and how it can harm. My personal belief is that the problem is lack of communication.

Now, if you're talking about a school program to teach sex education, I would say that, as a parent, I would prefer to teach my child myself. However, not all parents do so. And if you're talking about a school program at six, would that be kindergarten? Head start? I've not heard of sex education that early but my kid isn't in school yet.
