Hows it goin' there?

Howdy fellow Fapstronauts! New here to the forum, but currently on day 5 hard mode I guess? I've been paroozing the forums recently, really inspired by the success storys, and figured I'd register to add some accountability to my journey.

A bit about me, I'm 26 goin on 27, and have struggled with porn since I was 14 or so. I've suffered from Terrible self image, self worth, and general low self esteem. Ive never been a confident man, though I've gotten a bit better in that regard in the last 5 years or so I guess.

I've always felt like a piece of s*** (not too sure if I can say that on here) after 'doing the deed' and revenly decided that I wanted to make a change in my life in this regard. These feelings could be attributed to religious beliefs, even though I've read M is perfectly normal. (I'm not here to argue on personal beliefs, it's just something that's been engrained in me, I guess)

I've recently moved into an apartment, and decided I would pass on the Internet conection, so I haven't viewed P per say in 2 and a half months, but still M'd quite regularly. This in itself has been quite liberating, not only from not viewing P, but a soft 'unplug' from the Internet in general (I still use the Internet, obviously). It wasn't until last Monday I finally decided to start hard mode (I thinks that's what I'm doing anyhow) no P or M. This is day 5 for me. Had some pretty interesting fantasizing going on last night, but I made 'er through, I'm happy to say!

Anyways, sorry for the lengthy post, glad to be here! I'm looking forward to growing together (not a pun, I swear)

Hey dj thanks for the reply! Im currently on day 8, and the steps im taking are as follows:

Abstain from possible triggers (I dont have WiFi, just my phone with limited data that I use for the forums)

Have coldish showers at night to help me fall asleep, and keep possible erections at bay

Sleep with a light on (this one sounds stupid, but recently discovered it helps not visualizing anything, and anything helps)

Constantly remind myself what day im on and how much it would suck to have to go back to day 1

Remind myself why im doing this eg. Want to not feel guilty around my girlfriend, want sex to be more pleasureable (we have done it, decided to stop due to reliious reasons), dont want to be a slave to pornography, would like to excercize some self control for once in my life, hopefully developed more confidence, ect.

Thats all I can really think of right now, and they seem to be helping
