Love is dead

I recently finished watching The Pacific (very similar to Band of Brothers) and I couldn't help but notice that love seemed very alive back then (1940s). Men would chase girls, trying to take them on proper dates out to dinner, men would tell women that they are beautiful and women knew how to take a compliment and be flattered, a man and woman would look into each other's eyes and get lost.

Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic, I don't know, but now days it seems like love is dead. Everyone is so damn busy on their phones, computers, etc watching cat videos, porn, facebook, and seeing what the Kardashians are up to and missing out on the people that are right in front of them. And since when does a proper date include watching netflix for hours on end? I wish that men and women now days were more serious about finding a deep connection with another human being. And when did guys forget how to give a woman a complete, and when did girls forget how to receive one? If you were on a first date and you told the girl (or guy) you were with (in a genuine manner) "honestly, you are one of the most beautiful (handsome) girls (guys) that I have met" she (he) would probably feel very uncomfortable and not receive it well, and maybe that's because all most guys want now days is nude pics and sex.

I don't know, I feel like pure true love is dying, and men and women are both to blame. I can only pray that I can one day find a woman that I can spend time with, tell her that she's beautiful, get lost in her eyes, and have a relationship full of joy, respect, and trust. I know that's a lot to ask for now days though.

Sorry for the rant. Just wish we could all figure it out. Marriage rates have never been lower, and divorce rates have never been higher. Love is dying, and PMO is part of the problem. If you are reading this that means you are working to become better, good on you for doing so.
