I understand what everyone is saying but I wouldn't go this far. There was porn before Hugh Hefner was even born. He just made it more mainstream and acceptable.

I hope he made peace with God before his death. I know society wants to portray Hugh as the "man" by being this bachelor who lived a carefree lifestyle drenched in sexual pleasure and later having 7 girlfriends at the age of around 70 or 80 and then being married to a 26 year old woman at the age of 86, but that isn't something that is worth attainting. I remember a few years back, I read an article that interviewed one of his former "girlfriends" and what she talked about kind of surprise me. She stated that he paid each one of them to be his "girlfriend" and when it came to sex, all he did was lay down on the bed while each girl had a turn riding him for 1 minute while he was watching gay porn. If that is the carefree playboy lifestyle, I'll pass. Like it's been stated before, he played a big role into how porn is viewed in society today and unfortunately a lot of us got expose to the Playboy magazines at a young age. Like I said, I hope he made peace with God and ask for forgiveness.

  3. Interesting. The first naked woman I ever saw was in Playboy (still remember it) whe I was about 10. The first sex/porn I ever was on Playboy Channel about 11 hrs old. Later, as I grew older I would become an avid reader of Playboy (great articles and some of the best fiction). Jeff basically got me into porn.

But he also gave me a deep and almost religious love of women. The mysteries of their bodies, the simpleMthings like their hair and eyes, curve of hip. Granted, it was good camera angles and hair/makeup and lro photography, but still...even now seeing past the aesthetics and Photoshop and emptiness of porn, my passion for women only burns more internee (just for one gal now).

Oh, and I have a really bad porn habit I had to kick.
So thanks Herf, and fuck you.

I hope one day you have a different view about God and realize how real he is.

Why do we care so much about celebs like this one.

    I really don’t understand it.
Sure celebs that actually contribute something good to the world, through music or science for example are worthy of being celebs.
But someone who got famous from exploiting sexual desire? Nah.

I don’t regard celebs as any more important people than me or you (collectively)

Yeah, he contributed to the adult industry, however, his content was pretty light-hearted and harmless, and not centered about degrading women, in fact, I believe he did some good shocking the puritan and begote america of the times. I don't believe we should blame him for anything, although a man in his 80s showing off with girls in their 20s is really fucking sad and disgusting. If our level of porn was still playboy I don't think nearly as many people would get their life ruined because of it.
Women had been kinda degraded for the past 8000 years or so, you know...

I disagree. There is a difference between being sexy and being objectified, and the moment we lose sight of that, both radical feminists and the Fred Phelps of the world both start to sound the same; demanding that women start covering up their bodies. That choice belongs to the woman herself, and no one else.

  16. Do you think that only porn that shows women being choked and slapped is "degrading women"? Playboy absolutely degrades women. It presents women as objects for your sexual pleasure. That is degrading.

And before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, yes, I would say the exact same thing about a male-equivalent magazine being degrading to men.

  17. Well of course there is. But having your boobs and vajayjay displayed in a magazine for the sole purpose of men drooling over your body, and likely jacking off to it, is allowing yourself to be objectified. You might also feel sexy doing it, but it doesnt change the fact that you are being highly objectified.

That's my opinion. You're free to disagree with it, but I will never accept that playboy magazines are not objectifying to women, and that hugh hefner himself wasn't objectifying to women.

  18. There are plenty of ways for women to feel sexy without displaying their private body parts for men to leer at. Sadly, our society has decided otherwise, and now feminists themselves are calling this kind of objectification "empowering" and protecting the rights of slutty women to be complete whores with no judgement from society. And they call that empowering as well.

It's an incredibly sad day when the women, themselves, begin to believe and embrace the idea that allowing themselves to be objectified and used for their bodies will make them feel good about themselves and make them feel sexy, when so many other, more healthy outlets would have that effect in a much more long-lasting way. There's a reason that these so-called empowered women are attention whores. Because they were promised they would feel empowered and sexy, and when you turn to displaying your body or offering your body to strange men to accomplish that feeling, it goes away pretty dang quick, and is often replaced with a much stronger feeling of utter worthlessness. So they have to continue to seek that sexual attention again and again, to feel sexy and like they are worth something again. Very sad.

  19. I am really shocked at this. I'm shocked that women these days actually have no problem with a guy criticizing how they look and what they wear in terms of objectification and that feminists actually think it's empowering to have men jack off to them and stuff. It's really mind blowing.
