Just wanna know, I love watching documentaries and Youtube history vidéos whenever I have the opportunity. Love history since I was a kid, watching Planète +( french history Channel ) and National Geographic.
Hey, me too I also love history videos, there's some cool stuff about battles, too. In fact, my favourite game Europa Universalis4 got me into it. Because of that I looked up so many things I otherwise wouldn't have. I just love telling my friends about trivia or "fun facts" about historic events or countries.
I love games about ww2. Just played Ww2 of cod last year, I found the campaign interesting. Replayed world at war cod too last year, was playing Brothers in arms in my computer but need to buy a new computer. What is your favorite youtube history channel? World war two channel is going crazy now.
Love history. Especially conspiracy stuff. Right now I'm looking in to John Allegro and his views on Jesus and the bible. John Marco Allegro was an English archaeologist and Dead Sea Scrolls scholar. He came to the conclusion that Jesus was in fact a mushroom rather than a man! It's quite interesting.
Lol, it's a bit generalizing to say they're all flat out fake. There's been plenty of times through out history where a government organization or an overpowering industry that has conspired in some sort of way and then later being proved that they have conspired.
I love history. I used to really like watching documentaries on Roman history, but don't get around to doing that too much any more. There was a great six-part series by the BBC called Rome: The rie and fall of an empire. It's not a docu but a more story-driven series on important events in the Roman empire. I also enjoy in-depth Tanakh (Hebrew for the old testament) study and matching different sources and events to get a clear understanding of what happened.
Personally I love the to read (translations of) the old writers themselves: Herodotus, Tacitus, Ceasar, Thucydes to name a few. Herodotus is a great story teller, and I love the way he sometimes tells two different versions of a story and lets the reader decide for himselves which one is most believable because he does not know. Tacitus gave me a description of my ancestors (Germanic tribes) in which I could clearly discern thinks we consider standard today (marriage of equals, long winded meetings with too much talk). Thucydes describes in agonising detail the fall of the first great democracy (Athens). A warning to be heeded today! I can recommend them to everybody. And I think old fashioned reading is a good antidote to too much porn & internet.
If you enjoy the Bible, check the Bible project On YouTube, well explained and animated vids about the Bible. I love Rome history so much, I watched History channel Rome vs barbarians; and netflix serie Roman Empire(not 100% accurate tho). There is a channel called Historia Civilis on.YT, best channel about Rome. Check that out.
Never been into that. I love new historians books tho (Keegan, Stahel, Mary Beard) Also Herodotus is known for adding Greek propaganda in his writing.
I think I watched some stuff of the Bible project. It's a Christian perspective on the Bible, so it's not really for me (I'm not Christian), but Historia Civilis sounds interesting, so thanks.
