I still like "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives. Something about the way he sings it always makes me a little happier than before.
I realize this song may be in poor taste and I am not trying to offend anyone. I like Christmas and the traditional music of the holiday. However I find this song really amusing and it always makes me laugh. Again sorry if it's not received well just something kind of funny I came across.
Not all Christmas music is that bad. Like Derek Webb's song Chasing Empty Managers which is all about what it's like to have Christmas after getting divorced and losing one's faith. Over the Rhines song First Snowfall is pretty good too. Here are some of the lyrics: And my soul feels as empty As a brown paper bag The drained bottle inside it Bought with bummed change 40 ounces of liquor For 30 pieces of silver And your temporary suicide Has all been arranged You're not going to hear such songs in a shop because both are really dark but just because you don't hear them while shopping doesn't mean there isn't good Christmas music.
My favourite Christmas song is "Mary Did You Know?" by Jeremy Camp, btw Merry Christmas to you and your family
Just a few tracks i like..... Spoiler There's more, but i'd rather not post them. Most christmas songs will get on my nerves, but there's some that i find hilarious that some may find offensive or sick(like the CKY & Dropkick Murphys video in the spoiler.). I will say that i do like this version of Feliz Navidad.
Verse 2] 'Round this time I always think of peace Wish that that was something we could reach 'Cause I know this year was hard on you So baby let's turn in, turn off the news
Luckily, somebody quoted him in the thread, so I could still see the name. "Surfing Poet" is your guy
Car carols of the bells is pure magic. it makes you feel that the season is coming, that magic is coming...
i love christmas and christmas music of course. I just learned the lyrics of the duet "baby it's cold outside" and i only have to decide who to sing that with. And while i work i listen to christmas lo-fi music live >>>
Do you ever heard the story of a certain Krishna, borned a long time before Jesus? Seems like he died at 33, his father worked with wood and was not his real father, he used to make miracles, his arrive was announced by a comet...
I like the classics (who doesn't?). For me, THE Christmas song is Burl Ives - A Holly Jolly Christmas (1965). So many memories from that one. Burl Ives - A Holly Jolly Christmas (HQ) - YouTube
