I have to say that I think it is very awesome when anybody realizes they have a porn addiction and want to change things. I also think it is even more awesome when younger people realize they have PMO issues and want to fix it. It is so much easier to fix this when you are younger rather than after decades of addiction when we are set in our ways. Those that have been addicted to PMO know how hard it is to overcome and all of the crap that we put our significant others through. It makes me happy when younger people recognize this addiction and want to fix it right away. It will safe them from a lot of pain in the future.
Definitely agree I am very glad to have conquered my sexuality at a young age (17yro). I have a lot of respect and look up to those of you who conquered your addiction after enduring years and in some cases even decades of hardship especially concerning relationships. You have helped enlighten younger members such as myself by reflecting on your mistakes, and for that I am truly greatful. It is great that this community exists to help people understand that PMO is a serious problem and abstaining from it can make you a better version of yourself. I hope in the coming years nofap continues to grow and more young people experience the same awakening I have. I feel honored to have found nofap at this stage in my life and know that my future, sexually, and beyond, will be much more fufilling as a result.
The only way you can fix this addiction is that you admit you have on. The problem is education about porn, They will never teach that in schools.
To be fair, they told us very clearly that it can lead to addiction, but that fapping is natural, and I do agree. The key is finding the balance, after all, not fapping for life to me is fucking ridiculous. We're engeneered to do that. Although, if you got addicted to it and you can't do it without falling into addiction again., then it's better not to fap forever rather than to fap forever.
First you have to reboot. At least 90 days i recommend 130 days. Then you can slowly get to it minimum once every 2 or 3 weeks very strict but still on a no porn reboot. Thats what i would do. I have been masturbating since i was 6 and porn started at 12 and ended at 13 and a half. Masturbation didnt effect me at all until porn came.
I agree. Admitting there is a problem is the first step. I wish they would educate kids about porn in school. It seems like it starts at such an early age. I agree with this as well. And like you said to much of anything is bad for you. Moderation in fapping is good.
Same bro, i totally agree, a reboot is needed, clear out your mind and improve your strenght and willpower. Good to see people who share my thoughts. I'll just say that extremism is always bad. It's like ying and yang, live your life without thinking and you'll have trouble, just like when you live your live thinking too much. I chose to stay away from porn for life, but even porn per se isn't absolute total evil, it's just how easy it is to watch it these days that really lets you fall into the trap.
Well, I'm certainly happy I found this stuff at 24 rather than 50 or 60. I disagree with that though. We are not meant to masturbate. We are meant to have sex and reproduce, that's why the drive is there. Masturbation is simply a side effect of our intellect. It's unnatural. Just as car is unnatural, processed food is unnatural, condom is unnatural, etc. Not saying it's bad. There is no reason that I know of why in moderation it would hurt us. It could in many ways if done in excess tho. And I would argue that 90% of people are doing it in excess and probably are addicted to it without even realizing. But again, in moderation it's probably fine. But to say that we are ENGINEERED to do that is just complete BS.
I don't think we have same definition of nature. When I speak of nature I speak of harmonic order of things without interference of outside intellect. By your definition everything is natural then. Even lung cancer from smoking and and plastic bags. Cos everything comes from the roots of nature.
God I wished I heard about pmo addiction earlier. My life could have been sooooo different. I never for a moment suspected that that might be the source of a lot of my problems .
I'd devote more time to learning how to read (a skill you should have command over at this point in your life) rather than digging up old dirt.
I agree with @Shugi Shugi on this one. Our sexual drive is there for the propagation of our genes, not to bust a nut alone.
