Again what he said was a load of crap. Just like everyone else in that thread confirmed. I literally told you that baldness is caused by the way your hair follicles react to DHT, not the amount produced, but you don't seem to have taken notice of that.

e5s, I was referring to general inheritance of hair and conditions that are called male pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia, but it could be the same genetic underpinnings in females, which I don't think has been studied as much. I'm not saying that it's not genetic, the thinking today is that it is genetic. But it used to be taught that it was passed on on the mother's side, which was found to be not true, it is equally inherited from the mother's and father's sides. I don't have any references.

If it's not genetic than it would be caused by the environment and there has been no proof for that at all. So I'm going to stick to genetics.

 

Oh, okay. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that, since there are usually multiple genetic paths to the same phenotypic outcome. Sounds like you're saying the understanding is that there's an X-linked gene and also some other genes that are not X-linked. Genes function together and sometimes cancel each other out.

Hmmm... maybe I won't warn my boy to marry young now, if he's got more than half a chance at keeping his hair... (LOL just kidding of course).
