Is rebooting worth it?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jul 5, 2017.

  1. Hey I'm a 15 year old guy who has been masturbating pretty much every day since i was 11. I try to not watch porn but I still do every 2 weeks or so. When I do, I feel awful and promise myself and god that I'll never do it again but I still do. I've been trying to do hard mode reboots off and on for the past six months, but I've never been able to get past three days. Anyway, I've never felt to guilty about M, and it's just been a part of my life, but more recently I've been feeling guilty about that too. But I've had pretty good life, I'm a 4.0 student, I'm fairly motivated, I'm active, etc. All while masturbating every day so I just don't know how much my life would improve without it.

Just my opinion here, but it never hurts to try NoFap and see how it works out for you. It doesn't seem like you're really addicted to porn if you only watch it every two weeks, but at the very least, NoFap can force you to get out of your comfort zone and give you something to work towards.

  3. Try it for 90 days. you wont regret it.

  4. Ok, so let me ask you, how-specifically-has your life improved since you rebooted? And how is masturbation going to hold me back? I just want to understand all this better

  5. Thanks a lot for replying. Cutting it out would definitely be a weight off my shoulders because I won't be consumed with thinking am I doing the "right thing". Any tips on how to control the urges that hit on day 2 or 3 that I've never been able to get past?

Realize the first few weeks are just going to hurt. It's part of the process. You know why it's hurting it's called withdrawal. You know the reason for the pain.

Well, if you are 15 years old, 4.0 student, active, motivated, etc. in my humble opinion I would say you need to do some good old flirting with girls at your school. Trust me, your future self will thank you for not getting kidnapped by your own computer.

If I could like this comment 10 times, I would.

  9. Haha, well my school is pretty small, so there's only a handful who are worth flirting with. Girls seem to like me though lol
