    I fell again after only 8 days. I'm realizing part of my rationalization was that I am planning to go to confession today anyway. I know this is presumption of God's mercy, and a grave sin. I plan to confess this to the priest, and resolve to never let myself do that again. Is this the right thing to do?

    Yes this is the right thing to do. Confession is a blessing and we should go as often as we need to. Good luck with everything!
