Is anybody else worried abstaining from PMO might make them pick up another bad habit like smoking as a coping mechanism?

  Nah! Why would it...
  If somebody believes PMO is a problem, he or she would already be aware of the threat of an addiction...
  Any sensible person will not make this mistake...

  I do agree. But whilst giving up PMO might make one person feel strong and in control, it might make someone else feel weak and have them think filling that void with something else may help. Just thinking out loud. I'll be honest, I have these fears myself but its early days
