I read up on some feminism and feminist critique of pornography, and found myself agreeing with much of it. As such, it became abundantly clear to me that my professed ethics were in conflict with my porn habit. That's what initially led me to question myself with regards to pornography.

So many hours I've wasted searching for increasingly potent 'hits' of pornography on the net, diverting into bizzarre kinks that I previously wouldn't have considered and questioning my sexuality on the way. Post-orgasm I'd always find myself repulsed by the images that just a few seconds ago brought me great pleasure. When the red mist disperses and everything becomes clear, you're left with self-loathing.

I discovered nofap and casually gave it a go, without much commitment. Shouldn't be too hard, I thought. Boy was I wrong! Trouble is, the moment you forbid yourself something it's ten times more alluring. I can see how monks must struggle with celibacy. So now I'm committing to it properly by signing up to nofap, and diverting my attention with swimming, meditation and good old fashioned will power. Wish me luck!
