Hello, I've thankfully reached 400 days today. I don't have much to add. Still trying to sort out all of the knots in my life. I thought I'd repost the tips I wrote in my 240 days story, because I still find them to be quite good. Keep your eye on the prize. When I say this, I don't mean choosing a specific goal (say, 30 days, for example), but really imagining the big one: being PMO-free for the rest of your life. It's not just about counting days and just waiting to beat your record or whatever. It's about fully expecting to live a good, clean life from here on out. When you have strong urges, concentrate on the fact that if you relapse, it doesn't just mean losing your streak. It means having to wait all that time all over again. We're a very impatient generation. To even try imagining waiting 30, 60, 90 days again - seems practically like eternity... So might as well not PMO, right? People sometimes write about how they're spending too much time on the site, but I believe that when all else fails - it's better that you just surf these forums until your urges weaken. At least here you can help and receive help, along with concentrating on bettering yourself, unlike other, more popular sites out there. Walking. Anxiety, emotional problems, anger, etc, are some major causes of both relapsing and just wandering around moody all the time. Several years ago, my doctor suggested I take walks for my mood. Only this year I started listening to her, and it turns out that simply walking is amazing! Breathe in the fresh air, let your thoughts just sink in, don't listen to anything - let it just be you there. No distractions. It's time to get to know yourself better. Granted, you need to do this several times. But after awhile, I expect you'll start feeling a bit better about yourself. In terms of really changing your life while rebooting - turns out it's about taking risks. Scary ones, even. I say this as someone whose shyness has often practically paralyzed me (This goes way beyond social anxiety). When I say "risk-taking", I mean that if your brain says: "This is crazy, don't do it" - then do it. I'd like to use this opportunity to wish myself and all you guys to keep moving forward. Don't look back and miss those PMO days, because you were really missing out on life. Good luck to us all!
What's your history with pmo? I'm at 15 months hardmode and I had a panick attack last night. Physical symptoms are still present and i still can't function the way I want to....
dude...its so fucking inspiring that you went on from 240 days to 400! Keep it up! What were the new habits that you have picked up along this journey? Something must have changes in your lifestyle that filled the void, am I right? what are they? I know that because I have been 140+ day streak this year and it ended and ever since I didnt go 30 days. I hope you have the time to reply to my question! Thanks in advance!
In part, I guess. In some regards, I think I am also a bit lucky. Also, I discovered that there are a few things in (my) Jewish lifestyle that help in countering the PMO-addiction. One the main changes is that almost every day I take a 20-30 minutes walk, sometimes even longer. Recently though I haven't been able to do this as much because of a knee inury... Other than that, I can't think of anything really major.
wow man, something so simple is making such a huge difference, its quite fascinating! I guess when we do something we love everyday for so long, may be other things fall in place too! Do you experience attraction form woman now?
No, thankfully. I'm not anti-women, I just think it would be inappropriate. And I'm not really looking for that at the moment. Hey, maybe there's no attraction because my religious looks negate that? Who knows...
I respectfully bow down to you on my two knees for conquering yourself for 400 days.i would like to humbly fold my arms in front of you.accept me as your disciple or assistant.
You say you are 15 months into hard mode and still not healed? Bruh that is just unreal, IDK what to say. What sort of withdrawal symptoms are you dealing with right now? Shed some light on it, might be able to help you
That is just kickass man. A lot of the members who reach numbers like this always seem to fade into inactivity, so seeing you continue to participate is a great thing for this forum.
I'm in PAWS right now---- Brain fog mainly, legs weaknesses, muscles spasm, tremors and burning skin....
Bro I would suggest that putting your on brain dopamine fast, I know this sounds weird since we all are already doing it but I mean from literally everything, Whatever that brings you instant gratification. Learn to delay gratification, do things that would give you long term benefits and not short term pleasure for eg, for me it was cutting out soda from my life completely and only drink water because i would feel good after drinking soda but it was instant gratification which isn't good for us. Would you say you have girlfriend? cuz in my experience its not wise to have sex while rebooting your brain. In the beginning of my journey (around 1 1/2 years ago) I stopped masturbation but i would still watch porn and i would do edging very often. In my head I thought retaining semen was the key to it which is true in the long run but in short term our main priority should be rebooting our brains ie. our dopamine receptors. But all that edging and porn was still giving my brain dopamine high and I felt good. So my advice would be read about dopamine fast and apply it in your life and learn to delay gratification.Others things would be lifting heavy ass weights, taking cold showers, meditate and stuff i read all of these on some article about dealing with withdrawal symptoms in general Cheers.
