Awesome. I've been self-studying French for like 5-6 years and now enjoying listening to French Christian music.
Duolingo is a good app to start with. Watch french YouTube channel. Listen to classic french song (not rap).
Ainsi vous voulez parler français? I would like to learn arabic :/ My favorite author is Victor Hugo he made amazing poetry, and is always studied in early classes
Immerse yourself in the culture. Find someone who speak french to talk to you about everything at least 1 hour every week. Also, a friend of mine is a language learning expert and coach, PM if you want his details!
I'm French. I have HelloTalk. You can also contact me through WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype or WeChat, I want to be fluent in Chinese Mandarin (w/ writing & reading).
I'll let you in on something: 80% of communication is made using 2000 words 90% of communication is made using 3000 words Following that is a set of diminishing returns. What I'm saying is, knowing the most commonly used 3000 words of a language, will allow you to understand ~90% of all text and speech. What I recommend: Find a list of the most common words in French (up to 3000) and learn them. There are likely going to be textbooks or workbooks that contain lists of these, just find a pdf online. Use a flashcard program like Anki to instill them into your head. You're lucky that around 40-50% of French words are cognates with English. As for singing, make sure that you learn how to pronounce the language at the very start ( while the alphabet is the same, the pronunciation is nothing like English or Persian ). Practice reading out sentences and try to mimic the pronunciation of native Francophones. Wish you luck!
Écoute des chansons en français, utilise Duolinguo pour la base et regarde des vidéos sur YouTube avec les sous-titres en français! Et quand tu auras assez progressé, regarde Kaamelott
Good decision, mate! Rocket French is the standout winner in my opinion. It combines both audio lessons with interactive computer games. Strangely enough, it is also the cheapest option. Fortunately, this is one case where "you get what you pay for" simply doesn't hold true. The audio lessons really focus on building your ability to actually speak the language and they do it in a way that's both interesting and efficient. There's no learning useless, boring phrases here. The computer games also make it a fun and easy way to build vocabulary, learn your verbs and improve your verbal recognition skills. Of course, for those of you who just love grammar, there is plenty of information regarding some of the more technical aspects of French. I really can't recommend Rocket French any stronger, if you want to take your French to the next level, then go check out the site today. It only took me about 3 months to learn French well enough to be able to conversate on a daily basis in France. I just did a quick google search and here is a great review of it: 1monthfrench,com I am not affiliated with this site in any way. To my knowledge, this is one of the best (if not the best) option out here in 2019 to learn French online. I really hope this helps someone out there. Good luck! Jake
I see you are 23. I don't know what your situation is but if you are a student or a young graduate, there are options available to you to move to France for 6 months - 1 year (or other French speaking destination like Quebec, Belgium, Switzerland, etc) such as exchange programs, internships, au père (or is it au pair?) Etc. Staying abroad and immersing yourself in the culture is the best way to learn a foreign language.
