So I'm currently on an 8 day hard mode streak which has surprisingly been easier than my non hard mode streaks. But I've started to feel bored again. I haven't felt bored in a long time, as I was on a 4 month streak till October. My hobbies are reading, learning languages, and working out, but I have little motivation for these things (and taking a break from the gym due to poor health). My theory is that my dopamine receptors were severely damaged by my last binge, so even though I've cut down on dopamine stimulants, I still don't feel like reading because my brain is still a bit fried. How should I deal with this?
I am also trying to read more and find it difficult. What has helped me is reading more fiction books. I was reading a lot of self improvement books and eventually got really tired/bored of them. If you are not doing so already, try to find some fiction books that seem interesting to you. Google best fiction books and read descriptions of books to find one that interests you. If you want an easy one to start off with, try reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. Hope that helps.
