https://www.dublinlive.ie/news/dublin-news/senator-advises-lustful-lockdown-dubliners-18004152 Idiot. Just shows how little, still, the truth about Porn is known about.
Kind of like advocating for getting drunk on your own since you can't go to bars. It's naive to say that everyone who watches porn gets addicted of course, and I do think that for some people watching porn could even be a net benefit during this lockdown if it helps their mental health, but for most people I don't think that will be the case. In fact, I think advocating for porn during the lockdown is a very bad thing. Addiction thrives on negative emotions and bad circumstances by providing an escape, and at times like these where for a lot of people anxiety and uncertainty is at an all time high the chance of developing an addiction is substantial. I don't think this poor advice comes from a place of malice. I think it comes from a place of misunderstanding and ignorance but genuine intention. It's a shame the prevailing narrative about porn is one that is so easily disproved yet so glowingly positive. I suppose that's what you get when you let an industry decide it's own image for 20 years until science finally catches back up.
It's gonna be harder if you don't live together because you'll both probably have people in the house. But if you're determined, and the added jeopardy makes it more exciting, something else might be harder instead I guess.
Nobody is going to give a shit about catching corona if there's sex at stake, but if you both live with your parents or are cramped in like muslims around the kaaba with roommates in a 2x2" flat it's going to be harder to get some privacy. Married couples have no excuse though, maybe they just have a shitty marriage and are only realising it now they actually have to try and cope with eachother
