I picked up a book recently, i NEVER read books ahah. But i decided to do it sense im not watching tv and its great! Im goona get into books cause it also helps with NoFap too. Im currently reading "schools out forever" by james patterson and i really like it. Also if there are kind of sexual words (not a book like that at all) but is it okay to read? Trust me its Not like im touching myself, just reading it. Cause i have to read it to get by the page obviously. Idk might be hella stupid question but i want to know
The content within books can vary, as long as you aren't reading romance or erotica, you should be alright. Originally, TV was thought of as a very poor medium, which has some truth to it, however these days TV is becoming more like novels, and novels are slowly being killed off. Reading is still good, no matter how you look at it. I recently read "the confidence game" by Maria Konnikova, would recommend anyone to read it, has a lot of psychology in it.
That only you can answer yourself. People react differently to those kinds of things. Personally it would not trigger me. Sexual descriptions would, like 50 Shades of Grey kind of stuff. Ya know, heavy stuff like that not some slight romance descriptions of kissing. But if that triggers you or you think they might be p-subs for you, cos they give you the same rush as porn, then it's probably not ok. See how you respond and judge yourself man. Congrats on getting into world of books! That's awesome man! Stick to it! There are a lot of fun stuff to read. And it actually stimulates the brain in a way better and healthier way than TV.
Yea, just read it and move on. I have had some bad surprises while watching movies. Some I straight up stopped watching, some I have skipped the scene and some I sat through while trying to not droll too much. Same for books really. If reading it bothers you you could kinda quickly scan where the scene ends and resume form there.
I love reading. Want some book suggestions? I mainly read fantasy. Sometimes romance, but I won't suggest romance because it might be a trigger.
