Fantastic! You learn something every day. Keep striving. You are much more than your old self. We are all with you. You're not alone. If your brain wants to see pictures, you know what to tell it!

I'm in, I want everybody to be honest with me.. My biggest streak was 9 days and my goal is 15 days, today I relapsed from day 8... so here I am, my goal before 15 is day 10... it really hurts and It will hurt tomorrow when I will get up, but what can I do about it? Nothing, its the past. I feel so crap, anyway.

We'll all be honest. We support you. Like I tell everyone, please read the whole thread (takes about 15 minutes) but it's full of strategies and inspring posts by the men in the challenge. Be sure and report daily.

Hey, everyone. Be sure and welcome Nathan! Show him why this thread is the best!

Well just relapsed on day 8, feeling kind of defeated. But at the same time is a fresh start to try and go with no edging. I feel like once I start doing that I'm doomed to relapse.

One other positive usually when I relapse I will m a couple more times after on the same day, to take advantage of the relapse. This time I am committed to not doing it again today!!

That is extremely common. That is a very big factor for a lot of Guys. That is your brain using your logic centers to rationalize your action, the goal being to hook you for more days if possible. This is what we mean by binging. It is common with every single type of addiction from gaming to alcohol to drugs to fapping.

I agree that you have named the correct solution. If you relapse, get back on the horse. Don't let your dick be your boss. Some guys find out that once they can beat binging, they start having longer streaks.

Why is binging a problem? Well, one reason is that the crash and possible depression from binging is way worse, just like if you binge on caffeine and then suddenly drop it. Bam. You get angry, moody, depressed, worse brain fog, and you feel more dirty (because of more porn, which usually escalates back to the worst fetishes or even bi/gay stuff by the last session of the binge) and generally feel terrible about yourself. This is when the social anxiety hits with a vengeance. This is when guys don't want to be around other people, can't make eye contact, etc.

For me, learning to prevent the binge is what got me on track to longer streaks.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'd really like for the other guys on this thread to share their binge experiences, especially the crashes and if you've stopped the binges, how?

I'm chugging along today. Feeling super motivated. I don't think I'll fail tonight and I hope that's not the case tomorrow.

Rathi, that is great news! Now more than one week. You are over the halfway mark to your second goal. Just a warning. During the second week, some guys feel very tired and sleepy. It seems like it won't end and it will take a few days. I suddenly felt better at about three weeks but everyone is different. Just don't be surprised and don't let it ruin you. You may be a little grouchy or moody this week.

These are all perfectly normal symptoms of the reboot process. Don't worry if you feel a little sad. Those are neurochemical changes and they can hit in your brain and your stomach. On the other hand, some other guys are tremendously happy and energetic the second week. Just know that whatever it is, it's nothing to fear.

Oh okay awesome! I thought it was a general thing that anyone could take regardless, so I probably don’t need it, never had any issues like that. I really appreciate you explaining to me though! How was your day??

This is for everyone, not just Rathi. Keep your eyes away from triggers and your hands away from your pants. Easier said than done, I know. Old habits are hard to break but I know you men can do it.

Day 16 - 6 more days till my goal of remaining clean up till at least my birthday and then heading in to New Years PMO free!

On a side note I just set another goal. I want to come clean to my wife about my addiction before December. I have wrestled with this decision for a long time but the commenters on my personal journal page have encouraged me to see reason. It's unfair to her. I need to be honest and stop lying. I owe our marriage a clean and healthy slate. So - I need to find an opportunity to tell her within 10 days. If one doesn't present itself, then come regardless November 30th - I'll have to do it. I'm nervous, but I know it needs to be done.

I'm also nervous because I think at that point, this NoFap becomes very real. Right now - I've opened up to all of you, but not to anyone in the real world who also knows me. It's a scary idea. I mean, for example, if I were to relapse and decide, "oh well, I tried" I could walk away from this community forever and no one would be able to hold me accountable. BUT to tell someone else....to tell my wife....that is a HUGE commitment to the goals I've initiated here. It makes everything...real. There won't be any walking away from this goal - I'd be in it to win it. Which is what I need, don't get me wrong. It's just ....huge. Maybe seriously the reason why it so scares is that the addicted part of me wants me to fail. Telling my wife would be insurance against that. So here I go.

You are a man who truly loves and trusts his wife. It's not for any of us to tell you what you should do. It makes nofap the second hardest thing you've ever done. You were under no obligation to share this with us. We will be here to support you.

This is a lesson to all you guys as to what stepping up to your manly responsibilities can be. I have tremendous respect for this.

Guys, now you know what commitment is.

Some time back, I did what he's planning to do. It was hard, I'm not kidding. After the dust settled, my amazing wife was very supportive of my effort to stop.

Do you have someone close to you who would support and help? If so, consider asking for that support. If not, we're here for you.
