Let me start by saying I have not recovered or stayed clean. I have been doing NOFAP for about 3 years now and still struggle with it today. My longest streak was 62 days (actually happened right when I started my journey). Other long streaks include 45 days, 42 days, 30 days. Most of my relapses early on in my journey took place before the 14 day mark. These days, most of my relapses occur around days 16-21. I would say that the benefits that you get from NOFAP depend on your personality and on how damaged your brain is from porn and/or masturbation. Another thing to mention is that my addiction had escalated to very disturbing pornographic material (trans) that causes PIED and complete uninterest in real girls even though I am straight and used to go crazy for them. My addiction has nearly caused me to commit suicide. My life on being on a NOFAP streak of 14-21 days or more vs. my life on days 1-14 after a relapse are night and day. Heaven vs hell. It is the difference between not wanted to do anything but be frustrated and talk down to myself and being happy/motivated to be a leader. I hope that this post will help people live their best life possible and decrease suffering. Anyways here are my benefits/tips:

    Benefits:
    Increased energy
    More masculine
    More lean, strong, athletic
    Increased confidence
Decreased social anxiety (usually gone within 20-60 days)
    Increased motivation
    Increased happiness
    Life is beautiful and easy
    Deeper voice
    Stronger erections/decreased PIED
    More interest in real women
    Increased productivity
    Wanted to connect with others
Feeling like the alpha male in all scenarios

    Tips:
It might be easier to stay clean early on in your journey. This is because you have more motivation and aren't habituated to relapsing.
Accountability partners may help, but make sure you don't get triggered or demotivated if they share info about their journey of if they relapse.
DO NOT FANTASIZE. DO NOT EVEN ALLOW YOURSELF TO GET TO THE POINT WHERE YOU ARE ANYWHERE CLOSE TO RELAPSING. This is your brain tricking you to relapse. You may say fuck it i'll just look at some instagram pics, next thing you know you relapse and feel like shit back to square 1. Once I get to the point where it is my mammal brain vs. my logical brain (which is shut down during arousal) the mammal brain has always came out on top and won.. so don't give it ANY energy.
Make the decision that porn/masturbation (w/e you are trying to quit) is 100 % NOT an option then stop thinking about it. Throw out triggering material if you have to. ITs easier to recover when you CANT do the thing that has caused addiction.
Focus your energy on living the best life possible so that time flies, try to always be busy.
Discover your triggers and stop them as soon as they come up. Possible triggers include drugs, alcohol, loneliness, boredom, sadness, material, etc.
DON'T binge after a relapse. If you can, try not to relapse at all. However, if you relapse binging will damage your brain further, cause you to become more addicted, make you less energized.

Here's to my 23rd year of life and making it the best one possible. Also to you guys and hoping that you find the life you are searching for. Currently on day 2 and hoping that yesterday was the last relapse of my life. Cheers,

    Jack

I'm on my first NoFap ever, 21st day today, and it's not very hard for me (I even posted here that I fear it's too easy for me, and therefore might not be the problem...), However you say that the first time NoFap was easiest for you right? I feel like I flatlined on day 1...

Congrats on day 21! The first time I did NOFAP was after realizing for the first time that I had a problem. I watched your brain on porn and found this NOFAP site and realized how porn had affected me and that I needed to reboot. I had huge motivation to succeed and found benefits very early on. This allowed me to go all the way to day 62. I don't remember having many urges on that first streak possibly because my addiction was at its worst. As far as the flatline goes, I am an expert and knowing how that feels like. My PIED is so severe that from day 1 until I relapse feels like a flatline.. I've only felt slight arousal to real women a couple times during my streaks and even urges to watch porn are non existant until around day 14. As far as your case goes, I hope that you make the decision that is best for you. Be grateful that you are finding it easier because in my personal experience your motivation to continue is decreased if you keep relapsing over and over where you question whether or not if you can succeed

so you say you felt like you flatlined from day 1? cause I feel fine, more or less, the only thing I felt was my libido was gone from day 1 and i only get glimpses of it in the last couple of days of my extra hard reboot (not even fantasy!). seems like even with the relapses you should be on your way to a full reboot by now. did you ever get to a point where you said to yourself "I think I'm more or less rebooted"?

Everybody is different. We flatline because we need a ridiculously large amount of dopamine via hardcore pornography in order to get off so obviously (especially early on) we're not going to get raging boners for normal girls. I've never gotten to that point but I think my case is severe and everytime I relapse I went back to hardcore porn so my brain thinks that its still an option.
