i, I'm 3 1/2 weeks in and I'm struggling with motivation. I started this as I've struggled with hocd and addiction. I've abstained from PM and O once in this time with my girlfriend.

I've always been very active and restless since a young age. What I'm struggling with is heightened feelings of restlessness. I don't even feel massively motivated only restless. I've been going to the gym, cooking, reading etc but still feel very restless, mainly at work where I work at a desk for 8 hours. Will this feeling of restlessness go at some point? I think I've felt a bit less anxious overall however this feeling of restlessness/ agitation is almost constant as if I'm craving the release of PMO. Just really need to some support as I'm feeling low and lacking in motivation because of this. As I go longer into rebooting will this go away? I hope I can reset myself so the restlessness fades away. Any advice or motivation would be great.

  2. What you're currently going through is most likely withdrawal symptoms. You did mention that you think you're brain is craving PMO which it is. To be more precise your brain is craving for the dopamine spike you get from indulging in PMO. What you need to do is stick to NoFap no matter what and soon you will start getting energy, confidence all of the benefits from abstaining. However, this can take a couple of months and do remember the progress isn't linear which means that there will be up and downs.

When you abstain for a certain period of time, your dopamine levels will return to homeostasis and you will start enjoying the little things in life again, but you got to be patient, mate. Good luck!

Did you notice this behavior before starting PMO? Or did it start after PMO?
Remember, the healing process can take awhile (2years minimum) even if you do these things. Your brain has to reach an equilibrium of the chemicals that were exhausted with PMO addiction (dopamine, seratonin, etc.).
Again, if you started feeling this before or after PMO, you have to nail it down. It could be PMO withdrawl symptoms or using drugs, not sleeping right, not eating right, mental illness, etc. God luck to you my friend!

Yeah I believe I was, even though it was a really long time ago. I think my parents had me tested for ADHD but the result for that was negative. Maybe I just have lots of energy and need a way to release it although the main issue is at work. However I definitely used PMO as a relaxant so I think I still had the feelings of restlessness during PMO a bit. I guess if I sit tight for a few weeks it will feel a bit better and just keep doing stuff in the evenings.

    Thanks for your help brother!

Exercise. This is not only good for your fight against this addiction, it is a good thing on its own.

  8. I agree with you mate. Excercise will also speed up recovery and make you feel very good overall after it.

It doesn't get easier. You just get stronger.

Withdrawals go away usually from 30-90 days however

    Best
