    Gentlemen good day -
New guy here, and I wanted to inquire about nofap, fully defined so to speak.

I don't watch porn, (does nothing for me) and am single man. Many times I will awake in the morning I'll touch myself just for a bit, but never fully masturbate, and not cum - is this still cheating?

Does nofap mean not touching one's cock at all (only when to pee or wash in the shower) ? Or does nofap only mean when to fully jerk off and have an orgasm?

Please advise, and many thanks in advance.

NoFap is basically not masturbating to porn and cutting it out entirely out of your life. If you don’t watch porn already, that’s very good!
Most members here (including me) suffer from some sort of Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction (you can read more about it in the glossary). The only way to reduce its effects are to go first 90 days without PMO (porn, Masturbation and orgasm). Basically yeah it means don’t touch your penis except when peeing or washing it. Feel free to post any other questions you might have

Thanks for responding - yes porn is simply boring for me, but if NoFap means don't touch one's own cock except to pee or wash, then I'll try this for 90 days.

But after that, what would be the normal rate of masturbation? I was told that going without is not healthy either.

Going back to masturbating after 90 days seems to be a controversial topic here. Personally I won’t do it once the reboot is complete, the reason being that it might lead to a porn relapse

I've haven't looked at porn for eons - and never had the urge since. I have a deeper philosophy behind why I do not like porn, so looking at porn is not something I'll be doing.

But is not the occasional masturbation actually a good thing? One might argue that it is better to only orgasm when having sex - a valid point, but at the same time one could argue that jerking off is safer than contending with today's female who brings STD's, false accusations, and the plethora of psychosis to a man's life; and I've had plenty of experience with women to know this. Luckily I never had any issue, but this does not negate just how dangerous it is to be involved with women today.

Still I am curious as to whether or not the occassional "cleaning of the pipes" is good for long term health.

Thats my problem too really, i've embarked on the 90 day challenge journey to reboot but after it i have no intentions of any relations with women other than casual encounters.

Any thoughts as to whether or not the occasional jerking-off is healthy for one's private parts?

Hello...well, healthy or not... I think a JO here and there should mean no problem BUT the question here is we have accepted an addiction (in several grades or degrees) to unhealthy sexual behaviors i.e. watching porn instead of going to bed, work or eat; live cams to spend the money one needs for living; porn instead admiration for marvels of life etc.

If I had not this addiction for porn (and consequentially erection problems derived) I would see no harm in it, but speaking for me, I try to refrain at least for a while.

I like to compare this to alcohol...I had a heavy drinking period in life, and decided to go AA; there I spent a few months, not drinking at all, and afterwards I returned to "normal life" (whatever does it mean!); so now I have a few drinks with friends at home, do not drive and the next day feel OK. Unlike before I do not drink alone anymore, and if I have to stop because the hour, or due to some circumstance, is OK, I do not mind; if I have to stop drinking for a certain period of time is OK as well.

One should/can have a happy sex life but do not let sex take command of your life, I say.

The answer is different for you compared to me, if i masturbated i would just replay porn clips in my head so it would be just as damaging as watching the stuff. You, however would probably be ok to do so as you never watched porn but if i were you i would reboot first.

Hello!.. Is amazing how women themselves have cut off or made relations with men so complicated!. Have a great day

Thanks, and I agree - but my question is whether or not it is good to pound one out ocassionally for health reasons. And the times I do jerk off I never watch porn, but rather I think of any of my past girlfriends (as in real life women ehom I''ve had sex with) I was with in my life.

What would you consider a healthy frequency? How many times jerking off in whst kind of time frame?

  14. I would say no more than twice a week with at least a few days off in between. For me if it's anymore frequent than that, I will fall back into old habits.

  15. Do you guys realise there are women on this forum too? There are good women and there are bad women, just as there are good men and bad men. In fact, there's good and bad in everyone. This kind of gender sterotype drives me nuts.

A person wanting to avoid relationships is a person that wants to avoid relationships.. it is not the fault of the opposite gender as a whole.

And? I sure as hell don't give a rat's ass if there are - and nor will I stifle my opinons for political correctness if that's what you're implying.
I will say that both men and women are who they are due to the zeitgeist of whichever era they live in. Currently the West is being destroyed by planting a lot of sick thoughts on people's heads, and porn is among the toxic cancers out there i.e. cultural Marxism. Whatever the case, it is safe to say that times were better 60 years ago then today - no porn on tap and the sexes interacting normally and naturally. Whatever factor effects female behavior under the current state of affairs still does not change the fact, that from the perspective of a single male, that today's western women are to be avoided.

  17. This is a porn recovery site, so it is not really suitable for you. Some also use it to cut out or manage compulsive/excessive masturbation. You do not have this problem either. So, thanks for popping in @Bo2018, but only addicts need apply. :p

Well I can say that there are many men out there both young and old who use porn and it effects their behavior in the real World - and I commrnd the founder of this site for providing a decent support group.

That said, then perhaps I'm not the typical poster, but this site comes highly recommended and wanted to know what nofap is by definition - and what are normal masturbation frequencies.

But I get what you are saying, and I'm at a loss as to how I can be helpful to any of the men here.

  19. That is an unanswerable question in my opinion. You have had several responses already that amount to: "Never!" Bear in mind however, that your fellow posters are hardened porn addicts and usually chronic habitual masturbators, often edging for hours in one session! Therefore, for many of us, "Never!" is the healthiest option for us fear we regress to porn.

There are tribes in Africa that do not masturbate, so it is highly debatable that it is a natural human activity. It is, of course common, however. For your answer, I suggest you trawl the research on the efficacy of occasional ejaculation.

  20. I feel like there isn't any long term benefits to MO. As others said this site is mainly for those with an addiction to P.

Some of us are trying to cut the P and M out of our lives. There also seem to be benefits of not doing M. Some feel more confident, some has less anxiety. And there are more, you'll have to read about others' journeys here
