I feel like I am using a tremendous amount of will power
in my first days with no PMO. It seems to
make it a little bit harder to say no.
    Specifically yesterday with my friend.

Will my will power grow stronger or weaker as
the days turn to weeks without PMO?

I can confidently say that your will power will get stronger. The first 3 weeks are hard. The first few days are the hardest. You have to just ride it out. After the 3 weeks you'll be soaring. It will be easy and the urges will subside drastically. I won't beat around the bush and tell you its gonna be easy this first week, because it's going to be hard if you've never stopped before. Also, having a clear goal about why you're quitting is much stronger than how long you'll be quitting. Keep that goal in mind and your will power will increase a hundred fold.

    All the best.

If you feel you're going to relapse, check out this thread.

david i think your goal is too high for a beginner.

i would start with 40 or 50 days.

when you reach that goal you can extend it.

    good luck.

Beginner or not, don't underestimate yourself, you are human and if someone stoped this habbit, then you can do it too. I set goal for 30 days, but i'm not going to stop afther 30 days, if i do 30 days i'm not going back again. I'm not doing this for a set period of time, but for finding a way stop it for all.

My counter does seem a bit scary Monkotto. If I make it 40 days it will register to me as achieving my goal. I just am sort of lazy and don't want to reset my counter hence 365 day goal. I also want to try and get to get into being gritty. Then I'm kind of scared once I reach 50 days that I am going to have a strong impulse to relapse, another reason for my big goal.

Also thank you, I appreciate it jimb0 and Dom_G. The only reason I was able to make it through the first two days was because of the stories on the website. Every time I feel an urge I go on this website.

David, the one thing that has been an enormous help to me has been meditation. All of us share your will power challenges. The key though is when you take up a practice like meditation, you will increasingly find you can access a calm, stable presence from where you have the power to choose which thoughts you will pursue and which ones you will discard.

Simple, mindfulness meditation. Just my two cents.

Thank you anthrope, I definitely feel good after four days!!! I ended up goggling some breathing techniques today, I am trying to be more mindful.
