Stop right now. P alone is even worse than PMO, it's like edging, your brain is flooded with dopamine, even without release, and that stays for longer, since the levels normalize right after O.

  4. Bro, you need to stop watching porn right now. You need to learn to hate porn. If you love porn, you're basically a boy, not a man. Here's a saying I made that goes like this: men fuck hot chicks, boys watch disgusting shit. There, hopefully you adopt this mentality because porn will always fuck you up no matter what. It doesn't matter if you fap to it or not, NoFap is also about quitting porn from your life entirely!

What you don't realize is that you're actually supporting one of the most toxic, vile, and dangerous industries in the world. You don't realize that the porn stars are not actually that pretty, they're just poor and impoverished drug addicts who rely on "sex" to make money. They often get STDs since they constantly switch partners through each porn set which is not pretty. The whole industry reeks with drugs, death, abuse, disease, greed, etc.

So bottomline, quit porn from your life forever until you die. Even if you relapse, don't relapse to porn. Not only are you supporting one of the worst industries on the planet, but you're also doomed into going back to the addiction.

So change your mentality and become a man once and for all! There is no reason to be a boy anymore! Peace out.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the porn stars are actually forced to do unnatural sexual acts and many have commited suicide as well. The industry has also made $100 billion dollars off of the abuse and there's no love at all in porn (except maybe the amateur genre?).

Sounds like your have graduated to the next level of porn addiction.

If you’re like me,I would say always finishing has become boring to you, so you have started creating new ways to stay stimulated be delaying your O so you can constantly be triggering the chemical release in your brain. It’s like edging but without touching.

I’ve been doing that for years, constantly finding new and exciting ways to stay aroused longer. Sometimes I would go 2 weeks without and O just so it feel even better and it wasn’t so I could struggle to get there. It was a very exciting journey to go on a porn binge for hours every day and never lose my arousal.

I would say, if you still feel PMO is an issue for you, This isn’t an improvement, but rather one step further down the path of addiction.

I could be wrong, but this is my experience.

I’m currently 29days sober and was using PMO for 20 years Every day.

According to the video floating around on this website about the study of PMO on the brain, it is true. Now I don’t know if that video is true, but that’s what it says.

If someone has a link to that video, post it here.

I'm sorry but I'm going to disagree with you right here, I agree with you on porn and staying away, but you will find some pretty nymphomaniacs that love every minute of what they are doing, it's not all drug addicts and controlled women. Quite the opposite, these women are out for money and in many cases they enjoy it. But I'm going to say still stay away from it, because it is a dead end life all the way. You get that fantasy but then you get life kicking you in the ass because it becomes who you are. I'm trying to realize this even with all the hotness and crazy shit you could get involved with, how far do you want to go? And then the million dollar question, why? I get it, I can't get enough of beautiful asses right in front of me, but what have I become? I'll tell you what, a masturbation porn habit junkie who gave up on the rest of life.

So what do you guys think of nude images? I haven't MO'd since my siggy and I haven't watched any porn but I'll occasionally run into or look for a nude image to enjoy for a second. I've gone through hard flatlines and that shit is scary as hell to me. I like to know that I still work.

I think that can still be damaging, and it sounds like it has the potential to spin out of control into a full blown relapse.

As for the flatlines, I understand how you feel about wanting to make sure things still work. However, there are better ways to do it than looking at nude images. If you have a significant other, you could try being intimate with them. If that's not an option, it's better to fantasize about someone you already know on a personal level than to fantasize about pornographic images. I think sex is about so much more than physical experiences, and it's important to re-wire your brain to get excited about the emotional intimacy of sex in addition to the way that nude bodies look. With porn (even just static images), you're only getting excited about the latter. Overall, I think looking at nude pictures can be really damaging simply because you're reinforcing the connection between pornography and sexual pleasure in your brain, and reinforcing your dependence on sexual imagery for your own sexual validation (even if it's just for a second).

More on the risks of relapse: If I were going to look at nude images, I would be really concerned about relapse. Sure, I've been committed to my recovery for some time now, and I've gained a significant amount of self control and a stronger will in that time, but I still think there's a risk of relapse there. Why risk it? Even if I believed it was a very small risk, it doesn't seem like it's a risk worth taking. If I was really worried about flatlining, I would either see a doctor or find some other way to check. That way, I could verify I was still healthy sexually without risking relapse.

For example, let's suppose I was worried about my heart. I wanted to make sure my heart could handle pumping really fast and deliver blood to my body under stress. One way to do that would be to use cocaine. It's addictive, it's dangerous for my heart, but it's easy and it will give me the answers I'm looking for about whether my heart can still beat fast. However, exercise is also another way to do that. It's healthy, it will give me the answers I need, but it's more difficult and requires more work. If you see where I'm going with my analogy, nude images are like cocaine for your sexual health, and having real, interpersonal relationships is like exercise. The latter is much harder to achieve than the former, but it's a hell of a lot healthier and will still give you the answers you're looking for with respect to your sexual health.

i will just give my example
earlier i used to doubt on this but now i am sure about this
during my 10th class i was having a decent height .........around 5'7 for a 15 years old
then i started M a lot during my +1 and many of classmates started crossing my height but i dont see any change in mine
this M continued for next 6-7 years
here i am with 5'8 inches height
    then come my voice
my voice usually crack up when i was in public or i become nervous
it just does not used to match with my appearance
even while attending roll calls it used to become shrill
now here is the mysterious thing
when i used to abstain myself from pmo .........i used to feel certain calmness and deepness in my voice
but i was not sure and thought it to be psychological...........i used to orgasm
and after orgasm again it becomes like a 14 year old boy
then ...........as of now i am on 139 days .............and my voice feel naturally deep to me
even i cross checked it with an app called voice pitch analyser
earlier it used to show 159 hz..........now it is showing 131hz
deepening of voice is literally the best thing of no orgasm
but sometimes when i become nervous .......it again cracks but not become shrill
now ........i have always been a thin guy........but from past few months i have gained from 55 kg to 70 kg..........which is around 15 kg
my arms have become thicker.......developed belly fat
and there was a time back in 2014 when my rib cage was almost visible
and now come to stamina ..........after orgasm we feel sleepy and it is harder to breathe
but now ........while excercising i feel improvement in my stamina
this was all physical benefits which i have seen from 139 days without masturbation
but i cant say about mental benefit as in between this streak i was watching porn
    WHICH IS VERY WRONG

Well I think OP is in an important learning phase. I think that because I tried the same thing, and it still produced negative side effects.

First it was I will just look at images, nothing else. Then, just watch videos with sound, but still not masturbate or edge. Then, I wil watch vidos and edge, just not go all the way to release. Then I can't stop edging with videos and the only way to stop is to have an O. Then I feel physically not well again.

So I think as much science there is available to read. I also had to have my own experience. And that experience finally made me willing enough to seek recovery/join the forum a few days ago.

But I had a hard time trusting anyone telling me "porn is bad" because I grew up with toxic shame. And I think thats just the "other side of the laundry list" in a way. Today my recovery is more based on my own experience of trying life with and without PMO.

    @udit thakur
I only ask because I'm skeptical. I'm not doubting your own personal experiences, but I don't believe that they will apply generally, either. If your health has improved since you stopped masturbating, I'm happy for you, but I have my doubts that other people will see the same changes you did.

As for the deepening of your voice, I can't find any scientific evidence suggesting any sort of link between ejaculating and vocal pitch. As far as I understand, vocal pitch changes throughout your life, and only starts to settle down into a particular frequency range once you get older. Even things like seasonal allergies or getting sick can affect the frequency range of your voice, and I don't know if it's fair to assume it's all somehow related to masturbation.

As for weight gain, I also can't find any scientific evidence suggesting any sort of relationship between body mass index and masturbation. As far as I know, your weight is affected mostly by diet and exercise. Also, your age can have an affect on your weight. As you get older, your metabolism becomes less efficient, and many people gain weight as they age simply because of that sort of change, even though their diet and exercise habits didn't change. Again, I don't think it's fair to assume your weight is somehow related to masturbation.

As for a reduction in stamina as a result of having an orgasm, the sleepiness you feel after an orgasm is temporary, and there's nothing suggesting that this has a long lasting effect. If you feel like you have more stamina after exercising, I would guess your increase in stamina is due to exercising more, and not due to masturbating less.

I just want to be clear: I'm not doubting your own personal experiences, but I question whether or not the benefits you've been seeing in your life are due to masturbation or due to other influences in your life. Obviously, I think masturbating in excess can be poor for your health (as anything in excess can be). Masturbating too much can cause soreness on your genitals, it will take up too much of your time, and it can be hard on you mentally. However, from my own research, I can't find anything suggesting that masturbation is inherently unhealthy for you (as long as you aren't doing it compulsively or in excess). In fact, the only medical research I've found on masturbation suggests that it may actually reduce your risk of developing prostate cancer. On the other hand, I've found lots of evidence suggesting porn is damaging for your mental health.

If you have really been refraining from orgasm, but are still watching porn, I think that's something to be concerned about. Given my own experiences and research, these are my own personal beliefs:
    • Masturbation is healthy, so long as it as not done compulsively or in excess (note that I also think abstaining from masturbation is healthy. I am not suggesting that it's unhealthy to abstain from masturbating).
    • Masturbating to porn is unhealthy
    • Watching porn without masturbating (or 'edging' as some people call it), is extremely unhealthy and should be dealt with immediately

Cool, I'm glad you can see my point of view. Just to be clear, I don't think there's anything wrong with abstaining from masturbation. If doing so has been a good experience for you, keep doing it by all means. I know I said that I couldn't find any evidence suggesting that abstaining from masturbation can bring you health benefits, but I also couldn't find any evidence suggesting that it was bad for you, either. It seems to me like masturbation is pretty neutral when it comes to your health (as long as it's not done in excess, but then again, what isn't bad for you when done in excess?).
