What defines Porn? Is it ANY kind of imagery, or does there have to be some kind of explicit or sensual connotation to it?
The dictionary said this writings, pictures, films, etc, designed tostimulate sexual excitement I would change it to say anything that stimulates sexual excitement for me because I guess in some ways like a womens clothing magazine wasn't designed to stimulate sexual excitement, but maybe it was, but either way i can't go browsing that.
OK. I've been able to remove Porn videos and naked pictures, but I still use pictures of people in short shorts and girls faces and underwear photos and the like. I feel like one of my main motives for masturbating is that I want to experience sex with so many girls and my morals won't allow me to do that kind of thing (plus they wouldn't allow me lul), so I use the pictures to help me experience it more fully because I know I'll never get it first hand, so I take the next best thing. It's been such a breeze to cut out naked photos and porn videos (surprisingly) but I start hitting a wall when I want to either stop using imagery or stop jerking off all together because I always find new girls I want to have sex with (actually stopping masturbating is basically impossible for me right now. Hopefully when I take a 2 semester class in Colorado I'll get away from my triggers and have some success then. But one slip up and you're back in it . . . And it's so easy too . . .).
You should differentiate between your personal definition (meaning, what triggers you to masturbate) and official definitions. If you get so excited over a sexy clothed girl picture, that you have to jerk off or keep them for that purpose, well, it´s your personal porn. It may be not that harmful as real hard porn can be, but sooner or later you would probably return to the hard porn, if you have been once seriously into it. If you never have been an alcoholic or a gambler, you can drink or gamble without getting into trouble instantly and most people do it this way. But ever been addicted, it´s over and forbidden area for the future, if you wanna stay clean. The brain wants and cries for the dopamine kicks and it doesn´t care, if you use catalogue pictures or hard porn. That is also a reason, why so many people giving up one addicted behaviour, starting to develop a new one for something else.But if you get endorphine kicks from working out at the gym or running, that´s a much healthier way.
Hi @Daniel Ramsey Thanks for sharing. Well, that could be like a "harms reduction" approach. Sometimes it takes time to be willing to fully let go. So just be gentle with yourself. I reached a point on day 1 of this streak where I some how became fully willing to let go of peeking and MO. Sometimes I can't control my dreams though and it happens in a dream. But thats kind of different. Anyway, just keep coming back and trust in the process. You're exactly where you're supposed to be.
