    Dear friends,

I'd like to urge you to stop mentioning the terms porn/sex/masturbate while writing on the forums because these words indirectly trigger the mind to imagine porn/sex.
I'm not blaming this site or the motivation which i get from nofap.com but the sight of these terms in this website reminds me of the porn sites which also have these words all over the page which eventually persuades me of opening a porn site
Guys, nofap is no ordinary thing. Its just like balancing ourselves on a thin rope across buildings. Our brains are highly unstable during this process and viewing these words all the time simulate the feeling to go again and watch porn.

Instead of using these terms we can think of other alternative words which do not provoke us and make us stick to our nofap journey. :)

Don't worry @Thedeepseasurfer, as you stay clean for longer and longer these terms will have less of a hold on your psyche.

Well, that is why these are often referred to as P, M, O or S. We also have ED, DE and PIED.

You are making a point, but I want to say that there will always be triggers. What about all the commercials that you come across in everyday life? What about all the women in summer who show a lot more skin than 150 years ago? Saying the words is a small problem compared to this, in my opinion.

You could argue that this site should be a sort of safe space. I agree, but on the other hand we also need to talk about stuff. Just food for thought.

@kropo82. Thanks man, Yeah I get you, but i see hell of difficulty to stay clean. I'm far behind the wake of recovering

  5. I see where your coming from. We are all struggling in our own ways.

But you'll have to accept the fact that your post isn't going to change anything. That's real life brutal truth, we don't always get what we want.

It does remind me to use the letters instead of the words but others aren't going to have the same view point. We can't change people.

Very true. I have flu d that building alternative pathways in my brain by doing daily maintenance causes these terms to be normalized as well as my sexual drive.

Hang in there! It’s trally great you’re reaching out on here!

  7. Hmm, the word hypocrite comes to mind...

I've wondered if there is some chrome app that could censor certain words from text. For example if it said poopy and I wanted to never see the word poopy, I could just program my computer to replace "poopy" with "#####".

I'm seeing if Word Replacer II in chrome works.

OMG Word Replacer II worked!!! Its a little tricky to use at first but I found my way around. Yay! I am HSP so word sensitivity has always been an issue. Thanks OP!

I posted this after I realized how it affected me. There's no point in calling me a hypocrite

  12. From this point on the forum I will refer to masturbation as strain and drain. Sex as in/out and porn as prurient pixelation

Even if we use new words, isn't your mind still going to think of the thing that those words represent?

The impact would be much lesser. There's a difference between boobs and mammary glands right? Anyway, it all depends upon the mental stamina and the way we defend ourselves. :)
