Questions about Resetting

    My main goal in the reboot is to kick my addiction to porn and as an added bonus, cut down on my masturbation.

    I don't think masturbation is inherently wrong or bad but I feel like resetting is going to be more likely to happen to me than relapsing. If I do, I won't beat myself up and continue the reboot streak. I'd rather get rid of the porn dependancy as I said and learn how to masturbate in moderation.

    Regardless, I'll continue without masturbating as long as I can but there are a few factors that may cause me to reset. The biggest is chronic migraines I suffer that cause intense pain. I like to masturbate as it's coming on. It's a natural pain killer and occasionally helps me get to sleep. I can take pain medication but I'd really rather save it as a last resort lest that becomes an addiction as well.

    If I reset, what are precautions to take? I'll assume fantasising about porn I've seen is out of the question but if I got turned on by something non porn related (say a person I saw in public or a model in an AD for a hypothesis) is that bad to think about? How about my kinks and fantasies that I developed before I got into porn? I wouldn't imagine fantasising on its own is a necessary problem. Neuro-typical people do without dire consequence anyway. What are your thoughts?

    Don't watch porn. Don't edge. If you reset, quickly MO and get back on the horse! You won't lose nearly as much progress that way. Take cold showers. Avoid touching yourself or fantasizing, as much as possible. Some urges might actually be from needing to poop (pressure on the prostate), so keep that in mind!

I don't know if it possible to not fantasize about something while you are MO, it's not like you can do it while thinking about peeling potatoes. ;0) I would agree that if you are going to MO at least stay away from porn. It is a black hole that tries it's best to suck us in, and it's very good at it.

    I feel if I keep it realistic and as far from the porn I used to get off to as I can then it'll help and if I can go back to not doing it immediately after, it'd be great.

    Its actually a lot easier than you think. Just focus on the pleasure you feel when you MO. kinda get creative too with it. rub your balls, play with your nipples, just explore what feels natural. If you have lube than that helps a lot. It might take longer to get to the O, but if you can do that without thinking about porn the pay off feels much more natural and guilt free.

    Fantasies keep the same neural pathways open in your mind. Its not the biggest deal but you should try your hardest to avoid it like porn or anything else.

    You want to starve out those pathways in your brain. Small things like fantasies and lusting over women feed it so trying to basically avoid anything lustful is best.

    That doesn't mean turn into a psychopath and freak out because you stared at some chick for a while or had a fantasy but try your best to avoid any of that.

    I'll try and keep to a minimum certainly and realistic as well though I don't plan to start soon.
