Booze and sex drive. Tell your story (briefly).

Hi folks. I haven't seen a single mention of alcohol and sex drive so thought I would get a discussion going.
I'm attempting this 'nofap' thing (although as a 40 year old Brit I prefer 'conserving energy'!), and am going through the seemingly routine experience of being tempted/succumbing/feeling bad etc. I have managed to not ejaculate for weeks, but do still find myself having a 'little look' at sexy pictures, only to then find myself edging over hardcore pornography or actually visiting prostitutes in order to indulge in the more unusual sexual experiences.
So, to booze. I have heard women say that they don't get 'hangover horn', and also have heard women say the opposite. For men, it is clear to me at least that it is a reality, and it keeps dragging me back to that kind of super-charged, almost angry sex drive that I am trying to avoid.
Please add your thoughts.

 

No real story so to speak but I find that drinking makes me anxious these days. When coupled with a low after relapse it is fucking awful.

With that in mind I stay away from alcohol these days as best I can...

Also I find that if I have been drinking inhabitions are lowered and i'll find myself on the PMO highway

 

I have the same problem. In fact last weekend I binged on alcohol while I was on a weekend trip. As soon as I got home I ended up binging on porn for a couple days and I'm just now getting back on track. The only advice I can give is to cut back or cut it out all together, because for me, it's the kiss of death.

 

Never really had that problem of drinking and sex drive. When i drink i get more calm and i usually do some schoolwork. I also drink a glass of red rum everyday to help with my heart rate.

 

The hangover horniness is insane. I might have fapped maybe even 10 times the last time i was having a hangover. Compared to earlier times, that is an extraordinary amount, but i nevertheless have wanked multiple times always.

 

Just a little curious... What age did you start drinking?
I started at 7 with beer and by 13 I was on hard liquor like most of my family.
Do not really regret anything because my dad told me that if i can control alcoholism... i can manage any part of my life efficiently.
The old man always told me, make sacrifices to achieve the more important things in life.

 

I started at maybe 16, although I didn't really get into regular hard drinking until years later. Seems there are some others who get this hungover horn, so I guess the answer is..have less of a hangover. Plus if feeling super aroused, get out into the world to avoid the smart phone and PC! Perhaps to a place that doesn't have hot women roaming around..

 

That's my plan. I am seriously thinking about not drinking at all. For this year i have drunk maybe 3 times, so it's not too difficult task in a sense, but the reason why there is a small hesitation is because that will drastically reduce my socialization. Speaking to other people is the main reason i have had drinks this year.

 

Would have been a problem, seeing I am in classes on evening filled with women.
I just learned to change my view of them.

I've been told that the 'younger generation' are drinking a lot less, which is great. The particular style of mad Anglo Saxon boozing that I grew up with certainly isn't the way forward, but a few pints or glasses of wine seems ok. One or two drinks too many, though, and it's super horn the next day.. Thanks for the input.

Did Old Mac in highschool. Shakes plays where different in meaning to others. It also promoted a lot of what is considered normal today.

 

Today's mini insight: with new habits, stuff gets easier. Currently hungover but not really motivated to think about sex.

 

I dont drink heavily very often but when I do, hangover horn is a nightmare.. why is that?? There must be something biologically going on there, it's insane. Partner has the same issue.

 

Not sure what it is, do not know if i ever experienced it.
Care to expalin hangover horn?
