I believe changing your thought patterns and becoming more of your negative ones are important.

    To get over this addiction (and for life in general). How do you feel about this? I've been meditating for about a week daily now (at least once a day), and I'm becoming slowly more aware of my negative thought patterns. Maybe if I continue distancing myself from them, I'll learn something about myself.

    I hope this works out for me because if you look at my streak, that says a lot but I've been growing over this past week so hopefully this all works out for me.

    That’s the key. Seeing thoughts as they arise and allowing for some space will help you decide not to act on an impulse instead of just living in obeyance. For me this is the whole fight. Meditation is extremely helpful for me in this regard.
