I didn't say a thing about meditation, excercising etc. actually i would advice you to do those things.

Besides that, there's some people who stay on nofap for long periods and don't see benefits. I think it's more than 50% but it's hard to say. Many are just bullshitters, because in the first 30\60 days you can get a spike in testosterone, so you'll have an ego boost, and many will go write on the internet that nofap make you fly.

I don't know the truth, but i didn't see the improvements people talk about in 200 days, but i've also seen people who got better after a year, some get better even after 2 years.
This said, i don't want to masturbate or watch porn, at this moment i think it's for losers, why would i beat my meat in front of a screen when i can't even get a real girl?
There is nothing in porn masturbation anyway, so i'm keeping on nofap anyway for at least a year, on possibly on no porn forever (if i will be able).

  2. I feel for you. Social anxiety is a severe problem. I hope you will overcome it one day. Please don't give up on that goal.

The problem with NOFAP is that some people make exaggerated claims and promise way too much. You can't expect to heal from your social anxiety by stopping porn use alone. Are you even sure that your anxiety comes from porn use? I guess porn use could only be a contributing factor at worst.

Masturbating is completely natural, but the excess of it may not be healthy. There is nothing wrong with stopping your porn use. I am sure your psychiatrist will agree with that.

Just simply don't expect that you can solve all of your anxiety problems by NOFAP alone.

  3. but its been 45 days and the only thing that happened to my social anxiety so far is that its gotten worse (I shake and stutter more) | Is there a certain amount of time I should masturbate like every 7 days? ALSO BIG QUESTION: IS IT BAD TO MASTURBATE IF IM NOT USING PORN AND JUST MY THOUGHTS. ALSO DOES LOOKING AT NUDES I RECIEVED COUNT AS RELAPSE OR COUNT AS PORN?? PLEASE

  4. so are u saying masturbation is completely fine and I can do it whenever I want if i just masturbate to my thoughts and not use porn cuz porn is bad but masturbation isnt im so confused please tell me

  5. It depends on your situation.

I think masturbation (without porn) is fine if you don't trigger fetishes over and over again that you have identified as harmful.

If you suffer from ED you should not masturbate too much because it will have negative impact on your sexual performance.

You need to figure out for yourself what is healthy for you.

I want to chime in here quickly on two points.

To the OP - I understand your search for hard and fast rules but it's all really personal. I can tell you that I gave up P for over 6 months once but allowed myself to habitually fantasize and masturbate, and eventually found myself back on square one. The key for me is, if it's just a habit/compulsion, there's no value in giving into it (aside from very temporary relief). Whether it feels that way to you is a gut call - I personally have a hard time separating the "organic" from the "compulsive" and just try not to.

To the side conversation on nofap vs other holistic advice - I think, in part because everything is personal and mushy (as I mentioned above), you can't really isolate the benefits of nofap alone. Honestly, the simple feeling of accomplishing a goal that has been a huge challenge for years (say, hitting 30 days) is enough to boost confidence regardless of any narrowly defined chemical benefits. I think the goal here is to beat an addiction, and any advice that helps you do that is useful. But I also agree that people who say they get superpowers from nofap are either giving themselves a pep talk or are likely exaggerating (maybe unwittingly). To be honest I don't really see that much on the forums, but I do see people complain about hearing it, so I guess somewhere people are saying it a lot.
