Fapping happens because of boredom and excess energy, or out of habit. So fapping a lot in a way is a good sign, as it means you are a healthy guy with a lot of energy.
Sitting in front of a screen may help with boredom, however barely any energy is used. With all the excess energy the body defaults to utilize it for procreation - only makes sense evolutionarily.
So, to stop fapping without having insane willpower, the energy has to be utilized differently.

I have started to do a bunch of exercises (push-ups) for every 45 minutes of sitting in front of the computer. It feels a lot more doable this way.

"Masturbating a lot in a way is a good sign, as it means you are a healthy guy with a lot of energy." What reckless advice for a NoFap site!

You do not have to be healthy to masturbate and in some cases it is indicative of an unhealthy mind. Moreover, masturbation does not mean you have a lot of energy either. If you want to promote exercise, that's fine, but please don't use crass comments about masturbation to do so.

Not half as reckless as other things i am doing. After all, i am in no way telling people "masturbate more it is good for you". I am merely pointing out one positive MEANING of the problem.

I know i do not have to be healthy to masturbate, however the urge to do it is a lot less when i am sick. Also you will not see a 60 year old with cancer masturbate. It is a problem of the young and healthy.

Unless you want to call low willpower and discipline an unhealthy mind, i disagree with masturbation being indicative of it. Seeking out females in whatever shapes and forms is not unhealthy, in the opposite. Doing it by means of porn is either unwise or a sign of lacking willpower and courage, probably both. However it doesn't mean you need to see a psychiatrist and take prescription drugs.

fapping a lot can never be a good sign you yourself know it that's why you are here and from next time don't say anything as meaningless as this one and i am saying this on behalf of every member on this nofap site

  5. It's true that exercising can help get rid of the urges and temptations to masturbate, and it's a nice and healthy thing to do in your life anyways, always recommended. :D

But saying masturbation's a good sign that you're young and healthy is crossing the line especially on NoFap. Yes, it's harder to get urges and temptations while sick because your body's already so burnt out from being sick! But that doesn't mean that having urges makes you a bag full of energy and it certainly isn't a way to determine your health, if you masturbate to something on the internet your mind's unhealthy and this is an escape method and an indulgence activity, never good. And you're pouring energy out of yourself just for that.

Off topic but the excuse of reducing prostate cancer is true but pretty bad. You can reduce the risk of prostate cancer through so many effective ways that have better benefit to risk ratio, that's one of the excuses people use to continue masturbating too.

Although all scientific articles conducted under this topic claim that ejaculation frequency- including through sex, masturbation, and nocturnal emission/ wet dreams- can reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Media and pro-masturbation groups have misinterpreted this data to convey that masturbation is good for health. I agree with you Kallosthenos, that to reduce the risk of prostate cancer- is a very poor excuse to jerk off.

No you do not say this on behalf of every member. How would you know? I myself would have been thankful if someone gave me those kind of tips a year ago, instead of saying "just stop it, it's bad mkay?". That is why I post. If all you can do is say "you suck" then get lost.

You people seem to think that i am trying to justify masturbation. That is not the case at all. The comment on it being a sign of health is supposed to be a bit of a encouragement instead of the usual doom and gloom around here.
So please stop obsessing over it or going off topic in other ways.
I am trying to discuss the idea of excess energy being responsible for nofap being a near-impossible willpower challenge and to get people to use exercise to deal with it.

I'm glad you're finding a better way to use your excess energy than MO.

Everyone has different motivations for being P or PMO free. If you're okay with MO without P then that's your choice. I personally think that you're doing the right thing to avoid the MO. It'll be better for you in the long run.

I caused myself prostatitis through overmasturbation. How's that for healthy? Pain for almost a month, on antibiotics, and had to tell my doctor about my habit (embarrasing).

Not healthy, no way. It might be COMMON to masturbate, but it's not normal or healthy. It serves no purpose. Your equipment is made to make babies and further the human race. That's why it's there.

Also, I don't find much doom and gloom on this site. There's a lot of good info here and people encouraging each other to better their lives.

Maybe we can put this another way - masturbating takes a lot of energy but at least one has the energy to do it, which a person doesn't have when very sick.

Personally, I've felt my energy level double since starting nofab - 2 hours hard workout in the gym for two days running did not leave me knackered but ready to exercise again after a couple of rest days.

Exactly orbiter. It is a sign of health to be able and feeling like doing it and yet it is unhealthy to actually do. Both is possible at the same time.

Sounds awesome. I have nearly doubled my push-up reps in my longer streaks too. Most importantly I feel like exercising instead of having to push myself - at least with epic music added.

Exercising heavily a few times a week is great for gaining muscles, however in between sessions you still have to deal with the building up energy from nofap. Which is why i suggest periodic short exercises to break up times with little energy spent.

I find that exercise make me more riled up for a PMO session.
