to answer your question @ght5, I think I mis-spoke. I said I "rid myself of sexual thought" but in reality, I use the 3 second rule. Any sexual thoughts are dismissed in 3 seconds or less. Usually it's 1 second. You can't really stop them from occurring, but you are responsible for what you do with those thoughts as soon as they enter your mind.

Congratulations! I'm like most people here trying to make 30 days or more. Most of us want to know what it's like to reach 90-days? What are some of the benefits that you noticed? Do you feel like you have "rebooted" and there have been some changes with your brain? Please share what you have learned.

Thank you and once again, Congratulations!

Sorry, somehow this skipped over page 2 and I see that you did speak about some of your benefits from reaching 90-days. I am still curious if you feel like you have had a reboot? I'm not really clear on the whole reboot concept. I guess I'll have to read more on the subject of rebooting before I ask questions about it again.

Nomo, I was in my addiction for over 18 years. So feeling like I rebooted is a bit of a question mark for me too. Like I stated before, I have seen significant changes in how I am connected to the world around me, especially the other men around me. I also feel as though I am able to trust myself and my instincts on a level that was previously unavailable to me. It feels a bit like a super power or an ability to sense things in people. I am definitely aware that most men are in this same battle (no matter if they have chosen to fight or not)

I can see it in there eyes, a lack of connection. A vague dull, cardboard type quality to their eyes. We are not alone in this fight. hats off to you guys who have come so far as to
    1. Recognize that there is a problem
    2. Choose to do something about it.

    Let's gooo!!!

Congratulations - I hope you have full control and don't need to count from here-on.

Counting should be like a trophy on the wall, a nice award for doing something but not something you need to motivate you, the real success comes from knowing you are in control and that you don't need to count.

I just posted a new thread on this if anybody would like to check it out!

  10. Congratulations on your 90+ days.

    Do you still feel urges?

I fear public speaking and am in Toastmasters to conquer it. I was feeling pretty good about giving a speech riding on the wave of confidence of no fapping for a short time. I slipped and my confidence went out the window. I'm trying again but looking forward to confidently speaking to a group when my powers return.

I haven't been on in a long time. Just an update. I'm on day 503! I've been porn free, masterbation free, fantasy free, relapse free for over 500 days. I'm to the point where my brain seems to be even clearer. I was one mixed up dude. I hope everyone is sticking to their recovery. It's the hardest battle I've ever fought.

So I'm sober, and feeling amazing about that. The problems I'm facing are the ones I accumulated while avoiding life when I was in my addiction for 18 years or so. Most of the damage was in my marriage. I'm currently in my 3rd separation. I messed things up far worse than I thought while I was.

We are committed to each other, but damn I screwed her up, and I trigger her easily. My word of advice to you guys. Stop now, dont wait. You cannot possibly understand the damage you are doing to yourself and her (if you are married) she will find out. They ALWAYS do. I had secrets I swore I would die with. Nope. Life doesn't work that way. Don't be an idiot. Stop now before it's too late. And if you don't feel like it's a big deal, then just go ahead and tell her what you have been doing with your free time...

One more thing, never get cocky and feel like you can handle temptation. You cant.
In the gym, eyes forward. At the mall, stay focused. No fantasy, bounce your eyes. You can do this!
