You need to be honest with yourself, your reasons for watching these movies and how you are reacting to them. You might find it helpful to take a complete break from film/TV or maybe concentrate on older films (for example), to avoid erotic or triggering content. Just observe your mind and how you are reacting to what is happening on screen, if you are fantasising about P situations involving the actress then it is not helping you recover.

 

Subject to individual thresholds for arousal. I watch films/TV with romantic tones because it reminds me why I am fighting. It helps somewhat. But if you can’t handle sexual scenes, then stay away. Some people aren’t dazed by them, others are.

 

In my opinion, yes, those are absolutely things you should avoid at ALL possible costs. While it may not be technically porn (determined by "society") it IS what many refer to as a p-sub, or porn substitute. That just means that even though its not actual technical porn, its something that our minds look at in the same way we look at actual porn, and therefore we need to completely eliminate it totally.

 

Yes, that's something you would want to avoid if you're serious about your recovery.

EDIT: Also, thread title mislead me, thought you meant actually romantic movies, not sex (or something close) scenes in them.

I think it depends.
If you're looking for a replacement for pornography - definitely not. You have to clean your brain and not watch the scenes.
But on the other hand, if there really are no degenerate scenes, only ordinary movie where is passion, respect and so forth .. It paradoxically can help you, because you will return to longing for the beauty of true love.
But this is just my opinion.

 

I believe that it would be useful for you to watch a romantic plot that would be based on love stories. I agree with the previous comment that perhaps films in which you will see a clear manifestation of love and care romance and passion will positively affect you. It is perfectly normal that some movies have erotic scenes, but you should not subconsciously look for them in every movie.On the website 123movies there is a good list of romantic films, as well as melodramas that you will definitely like.
