Problem with youtube videos

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Mar 24, 2019.

  1. I am now almost 2 weeks in my latest NoFap journey.
Withdrawal symptoms are hitting me hard, especially at night.
I have a lot of sleep disturbances.
Yesterday I couldn't get any relief until I watched some S**xy dancing videos on Youtube, I didn't edge or masturbate and It's no close to the level of pornographic material I used to watch.
I am afraid I am close to another relapse and I desperately want to hold on this time and finish the journey.

    Need your help and advice.

You should work on your value attribution to porn if you want to remove the risk of relapse. You unconsciously still hold a lot of positive beliefs about porn and they will drive your will to PMO. Your addicted neurobiology will send impulses all on its own, but if you also fight your beliefs at the same time you're making it way harder than it has to be, trust me I've been there. Your lust, that's the "you" you embody when you're aroused, has it's own interpretations and goals regarding porn. You have to get to know them before you can change them.

Once you manage that hurdle you can visit Youtube without having to worry.

  5. I wrote something a while back which might be relevant to you. Here it is:

"In YouTube if you run the cursor over a video suggestion (the screenshot or title) then some dots will appear to the right of the video's title, like this . Click the dots, and "Not interested" will appear, then click that.

Basically, do that with any video that is triggering in any way. Keep doing it and YouTube will get much safer.

You have to be signed in to YouTube to do this. But you don't have to keep signing in, just don't sign out and don't open YouTube in a private window."

I can totally relate to your problem. Youtube was the reason why i relapsed after alsmost a month. You should classify these kind of videos as porn.

You tube is a real problem, before u know u will have replaced. Only visit you tube if you are going to search for a constructive video. Don't just visit You tube for the sake

Youtube had nothing to do with it. You relapsed because you thought porn is awesome. If Youtube didn't trigger you something else would have. Like an ad on TV or a movie. Or a lingerie mannequin at the shopping mall.

My last relapse after 40 days was from checking out chicks in yoga pants thinking it was innocent .... they had massive booties though that didn't help lol. I try to avoid anything even slightly sexual now.
