Been meditating everyday, mostly once or twice a day for 20 and 15 minutes two weeks now. It seems to be helping. It hasn't transcended the brain fog and I seem to have relapsed a bit here and there but I actually FEEL emotionally better prior to when I wasn't meditating at all.

Anyone here experience this? Has meditation been a start boost in your mental health and porn addiction recovery? I really thought that this was a placebo, but I think in 2-3 months I can see some real mental health progress.

  2. Meditation is the poor man's drug. Yes it can make you feel better, but im not sure it is benefical in long term, and i believe can be dangerous for some people. You may check links on my profile, if curious about topic.

What do you suggest someone do for self-care then if you believe that Meditation is bad for you?

  4. -reading aloud, slowly, and medium speed
-moving as slow as possible when you can, eat as slow like a snail too, if you use computer be very slow, to prevent our brain become overexcited, type slowly
    -calculating aloud https://www.amazon.com/Secrets-Ment.../ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
    -dual n back http://brainscale.net/dual-n-back
    -Dominic method https://www.amazon.com/You-Have-Ama.../ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
-spend 2-3 hours in outdoor for sunshine, if you sunbath do not take shower for 1-2 days, 2 the best. To prevent washing off vitamin d, better than taking as oil by mouth
-wear uvex skyper blue light blocking glasses 3-4 hours before going in bed
-exercise 20-30 minutes every day, if very tired just 10 minutes, but keep habit. Best to do before breakfast, after wake up.
-eating raw garlic, steamed cabbage with added fresh powdered mustard seed, on my profile you find links about nac, and other sulfur containing food that may help addict brain. I find raw garlic + red cabbage got good effect on me, but you may not tolerate them
-black cumin seed oil + tea made with seeds taking every other days, check side effect please
-hawthorn tea few times a week for blood circulation, check side effect please

-inclined bed therapy, look up that brother, but if you try only start with smaller elevation, can have strange effects for some at first, please check those, i find it more calmer to sleep on inclined too. I started with 6 cm, im around 10 cms since few days.

  8. It is my opinion only, but i think in long term meditation will cause you relapse thanks to those brain changes. I do not mean relapse every day, but relapses in every few months. That is my experience, while i was meditation i relapsed every few months.

I do not want argue with anyone else opinion's, just wanted to share my views. Peace

  9. Meditation calms you, the only thing making you relapse is yourself.

  10. Nope, meditation made myself too detached from reality, and from myself i awlays relapsed in autopilot mode. Btw how many days your biggest pmo free run?

  11. longest streak was about a month, and meditation has never made me detached from reality, it centers me into reality.

  12. I'm glad it working for you, but if you keep relapsing please take in consideration maybe meditation hinder your long term progress.

  15. Yeah, I have to disagree, Meditation is one of the most beneficial things that you can do to help yourself improve. I have never read anything that spoke about meditation in a bad light. With that being said, I meditate multiple times a day I have been practicing meditation even before starting the NoFap. To each, his own as the phrase goes, but there is nothing wrong with incorporating meditation into your daily routine. Start small a few minutes daily and work yourself up. Try using the Headspace app if you want guided assistance. The important thing to remember with meditation is that you have to commit to doing it regularly otherwise you won't really see results, but isn't that just like anything we do in life.

This is the first time I heard someone criticizing meditation. Yoga and meditation are two things that are helping me a lot, and all scientific studies on the subject show benefits.

I dont know why you dont like meditation or what experience you have with it, but, I feel more in control of my impulsive actions, which helps me overcome the cravings sometimes. I think you doing smthing wrong. anyways thats your opinion.

  20. I never said meditation not feels good at first, sure it does. It can give you somekind of high, calmed feeling, and that takes away your cravings, but in long term i found that very contraproductive in my case. Only wrong thing i was doing i started to experiment with these things. :) It is not surprising in the past most of these tecniques were kept secret, and was taught only in monasteries. In past, monks at least had some common sense, and not shared things with public that can harm them.

Today's "youtube monks" share everything for more views, they do not care if that they share can harm some people. Just be careful. peace
