Wanting to change and take control of my life

I am trying to put an end to my addiction. It has taken a toll on both my study and well being. And I would like some help with dealing with this problem and someone to talk with about it.

 

I trully want to change. I want to bring an end to this mess of a life I have, and to be able to trully live a meaningful life. At this point in life I have decided to do what ever it takes to bring about an end to this madness. Hence that is why I came here.

But then again, I am not so sure how commited I am to telling my parents and close friends about this problem. The only other person who knows about my issue is my consellar. I feel too full of shame and embarrassement to tell them.
