6th day can't sleep...

    I'm literally writing this thread beacuse of insomnia. For the past hour and a half i have been turning around in bed getting boners due to fantasies/porn recollections and pulse has been going up yet I feel tired and sleepy... Currently making chamomile tea and hope it helps, but has anyone else faced this problem? Any suggestions for resolution?

    Yes, I faced this problem last week! I couldn't sleep for more than 3 hours and the next day it gets harder if you keep thinking about it. So, I went to bed at 1 o'clock and couldn't sleep until 4.30 or 5 in the morning. I was getting boners but I was not fantasizing. Don't do it, do not think about girls, it will make things worse! Your brain can hurt your goals by fantasizing too much. You need to focus on the bigger picture and think how good you will feel once you have achieved you goal. Let's say if you are trying to go 2 week without PMO, then you will feel a lot better when you go past 2 weeks. Also, if you stop this addiction for good, I assure you will be a girl magnet and very confident, you will have a lot more success. I know this for sure, I can tell you from experience. 10 years ago I didn't have computer let alone internet, I was not addicted like I am now, and I can tell you how confident I was when I was talking to girls was a piece of cake. But, in the last 6 years I am less confident, I feel anxious, I feel guilty and all these negative thoughts - all these come because of p and m, I have PMO'd too much in the last 6 years, I have ruined my life doing this for a long time, I have ruined friendships, I quit my job and so so many other negative things that nobody wants to experience. So, do yourself a favour stay away from all that, you don't want it back in you life. Also, I would suggest you to get a counter so that you and other people on this website will see that you are serious to stop this addiction. Be strong man...

    Dude. The insomnia will go away. The key is going to be keeping your mind busy during those hours where you cant sleep and not letting yourself wander back into PMO. Do whatever it takes. I highly recommend cold showers if the cravings are keeping you up late. It will wipe your mind clean, trust me. Do what you need to do to reach your goals, and be successful man. Read a book, go for a walk, call your uncle Jim, do pushups, get ahead in school (if youre in school) ANYTHING OTHER THAN THINKING ABOUT PMO.

    I have 0 suggestions for sleeping. But if you got hooked on PMO like me, don't keep laying there. If I'm not asleep 20 minutes after lying down, I get up, even if my wife's in bed, because otherwise I'm creating a toxic environment for myself.

    Exercise your ass off six hours before bed. A humongous sweat fest for at least 30 minutes should do. Then don't eat five hours before bed. The last 30 minutes before bed, turn off all the digital displays. TV, computer screen, phone, tablet, all of that. Get yourself ready for bed in low lighting, and put on some pajamas. Close your eyes in the dark and tell yourself "I deserve good sleep".

    Write a prayer on a piece of paper. Even if your not religious, recite what quitting PMO means to you before you fall asleep. Read the paper again in the morning. You can overcome this. The key is to transmute that energy (throughout the day) into something constructive. Find a healthy outlet. You're smart... do it. I'm rooting for you.

    Ha guys, I should have mentioned that the fantasizing and thinking about PMO happens when I try to sleep, moreover when I am in sorta half-asleep state(lucid dreaming). During the day when I'm awake I have better control over my thoughts and can "meditate" myself out of PMO. However since I don't fap I get easy boners even when i'm about to sleep and it automatically triggers the PMO thinking response. Last night was a special case I guess had a boner for very long time like 20 mins even after I got up. This often happens after a workout probably because of the testosterone spike. But yeah I got up made some tea meditated and browsed some threads and it was feeling sleepy in a short time. So, I guess if you are trying to sleep and can't beacuse of PMO thougts and fantasies easiest way is to get up and get tired again :)

    I agree, turn off all electronics, the back lit screen interfere with your ability to fall asleep. Read a real book, that will make you tired. Exercising is another very good way.
     
  10. if you cannot sleep then engage yourself in something...what your hobbies are??? read a book, do some exercise, make some projects...learn something new
