    Hello,

I'm 20 and today I've joined NoFap. It has been a great tool to research and support me in this journey. Yesterday, I relapsed after 37 days - my longest streak. Porn felt strange and weird, however, what I'm guessing was a "chaser effect" kicked in and I went back to it again the same day and today. Felt really rubbish for losing the streak.

I want to quit for good and just don't know why I can't. I understand that it averagely takes a few times to get there, but still can't. This will be try 3 for me. I'm more determined than ever but I wanted some help with creating an action plan to get me through. I'm thinking Generally, Exercise, Nutrition and Mindfulness and would like some suggestions please.

Also, I'm also battling with OCD, Anxiety and Depression, for which I'm sure Porn had a part, if not the whole part to play in those. I wondered if anyone else is and has any recommendations for mental health when recovering?

  2. Welcome to NoFap! It is great to hear that you are starting this journey.

I started my NoFap journey about a year ago. I relapsed a few days ago but so far, my longest streak is about 40 days.

First, do not beat yourself up over a relapse. 37 days is very impressive for a first timer.

To be successful on NoFap, you have to look for other ways to improve yourself. It was a good starting point but for me, but it did not always solve my deepest problems.

Along with exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness, I highly suggest reading to help you on your journey. I find reading to be very relaxing as it gives me some time away from technology. I will list some suggested titles in a future post.

I cannot say much about overcoming anxiety and depression. For me, it slowly went away as I started this journey.

Remember to be patient in your NoFap journey. The journey of self-improvement is a lifelong goal.
