Im 24 I've just started looking at this site I'm a young Christian married man. married for almost 2yrs with a little baby girl. My wife was goin through a period were she wouldn't have sex like 6 months or more and if we did she'd not want to go long, i wasn't masterbating before but i started, then I couldn't stop like maybe 4 -5 times a day on this stupid smartphone messed up my body now my sex drive(I always want to have ,and willing to embarass myself) "hoping it will work this time "is in shambles, I get hard then it just stops when it's time to get it in. It was actually like toward the end of October when i started trying to stop COMPLETELY slipped up a few times then vowed to myself..is it in my head? I want to go Hard Mode no nothin except for with wifey!
I just wanna know if it gets better with this commitment

Hi John welcome along, it's good to have you with us :) It might be a good idea to speak to your wife about your PMO habit?

Hi John, the answer is: no, at first it is harder. Then later, for most somewhere between 30 and 90 days porn free, it get easier. This can be overcome; it takes some time, some effort, some pain; nothing you cannot handle if you are committed.

You do not use the word "porn" in your post, but you do mention a smartphone. That means you are accessing, experiencing, porn, and porn is the problem. You also mention ED, which is actually PIED, or porn induced erectile dysfunction. That is the primary reason most guys quit porn. Get educated about your problem.

Next, find some tools to help. Get rid of your smart phone and get a dumb phone. Use porn blockers on your computers if you access via that mechanism as well. I see a lot of guys asking about blockers for their smart phones, but I have not seen a consistent answer on how to block porn from one, so, go to the phone store and ask them to sell you a cell phone that cannot access the internet or cannot download images. If you want to quit, you have to make it difficult for yourself to access the problem. If you go to nofap.org and hit the tips section, you will find a link to a porn blocker many on here say is great, the K9 program. Put it on your computer. Most guys who are serious find a friend to put in the password, so they cannot get around it.

Last, understand you are going to withdrawal. Consistent porn use ups our brain's dopamine levels. You have to get your brain down to pre porn levels. That takes time. But our brains love dopamine. Best drug in the world. Our brains, at least our reward center, does not want to give dopamine up. It's going to punish you for taking it away. Be aware of that. Plan on that. Prepare for it. Here is an excellent thread on how some of us have dealt with quitting.

Don't quit like you are trying to hold your breath. You will fail that way. No one can hold their breath forever. Quitting is more like learning not to breath. You might say "impossible." Let's ask the question another way. Do you believe it is impossible to never see porn again? Of course not. Ultimately watching porn is a choice. You can choose to never see it again. That choice must be made to be free of it.

    Good luck in your journey.

Yea. good luck my friend. It does get easier. You can see how long its been for me and I already feel a lot better than I did three weeks ago. Im being more productive, getting things done in a much quicker time and doing what I want more often. I still have urges so it is pretty difficult, but you have to remind yourself of the all the good things that come with an "addiction" free life. And now that I am experiencing these results for myself, I can really say that this abstinence from PMO is a great thing. Keep the goal in mind, Keep strong, and most importantly keep going.
