What are some of the scariest things you have stumbled upon in your journey?

PIED, that's it, that's why we are all here. No one cares about porn addiction until your penis quits, then panic.

 

The most scary things in terms of behavior?

I think the most scary thing is how our addiction drives us to do things that are self destructive, a danger to our health, and even a danger to our lives?

For example, I was in a foreign country years ago. 1989 I think it was, no internet. I was so desperate for a porn movie fix I went to a porn theatre in a dangerous part of town surrounded by people that hated Americans. I still remember the glares in that theatre.

In America during the 80’s and early 90’s I regularly went to porn theatres in dangerous parts of town where I put myself in danger of being mugged or my car being broken into.

It wasn’t until the internet that I stopped doing that. I was oblivious to what I was doing when I had my urges for porn. Afterwards I’d say never again but I was always back in one of those places before a week’s time.

I’ve heard and read stories where people were attacked while looking for their porn and/or sex addiction fix.

I think that can be incentive for many to do what they need to do in order to kick this addiction. It will eventually drive you to doing things that are a harm to you in some way.

 

I disagree. (And sorry if this is too crude). I had PIED but just used more Vaseline and kept on trying.

It wasn’t until I became suicidal about my helplessness to quit and was actually hatching up definite plans to off myself that I started to care.

 

Exactly! Once you get PIED it shakes your world, the woman you love thinks you don't find her attractive anymore, you're self worth as as a man is shattered.

 

In addition to PIED I’d say another huge obstacle was the brain fog and the reliance of dopamine blasts to perform in a creative field. Since starting nofap my focus at work has been awful and I have questioned my talent and abilities everyday. That’s when you know an addiction controls you. If you can’t perform your job without PMO you have a problem.
